&ME - After Dark (BRIAN CID EXTINCT PRIVATE REMIX)

Hot Summer Jams is the latest compilation to land on Hot Creations, due out in September. 
Now in its fourth year, the popular UK label has made its name putting out sun-kissed club music. Following 2012's Paradise Summer Sampler, this 14-track release will showcase a breadth of new and established talent affiliated with the imprint. Label boss Jamie Jones has also contributed, pitching in with cosmic dance floor cut "People From The Moon." The unmixed compilation will be available on CD, digitally and on two 12-inch samplers. 

All Night Long [Hotcreations]

One of our favourite records of 2013 was Offspin’s aptly named “Guilty Pleasures”. Another was the 4th release in Shir Khan’s brilliant Secret Gold series. The artist they had in common? Pavel Petrov. His “Party Up” record on Offspin was the perfect hip-hop sampling, big-ass basslined monster jam and it did exactly what it said on the tin. Everywhere we heard it out from Propaganda in Moscow to the Sub Club in Glasgow this cut did serious damage on the dance floor. So while we didn’t think we’d become a home for Bulgaria’s two finest house producers, we are very happy to see Pavel join his countryman Metodi Hristov on the Glasgow Underground roster.

“Suzane Sunshine” kicks things off with another of Pavel’s fun-time party killers. Big guitar plucks, swinging chords and a bassline that would move the Empire State building make this perfect floor shaking cocktail. Add in some cheeky hip hope snips and, “Boom!” there you have it, big tune alert.

For those looking for something more serious, and a lot more like his Bulgarian friend Metodi’s style of club weapon look no further than “The Chavdar”. What it means, I have no idea. Maybe one of Pavel’s friends has built a radar for Chavs and this is named after it. Who knows?? All I know is that this has the kind of dark, rolling groove that has seen Metodi Hristov rise through the tech house ranks in a Wilfried Bony style and fashion. So if you have a small dark room full of hyped-up sweaty bods, and you want screams, fist pumps and a monster bounce when it drops (hold tight for 4m42s!), this is the cut for you.

The wonderfully-titled “Raccoons” finishes off the EP with a perky string-laden, cowbell infused groove that is made for a future 2015 boat party. If only Miami was just around the corner Oh HANG ON A MINUTE!!

For their first release of the year, Madorasindahouse strikes with a trippy afro gem by the Moroccan artists Mr. ID who collaborates with Abdullah, delivering an insatiable song dedicated to his mother. “Omah” is made for these special moments that the dancefloor needs an injection of emotion. On the remixes side, two Greeks are here to deliver their own vision of the song. Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
