Their productions, which have found homes with esteemed imprints including Snatch, Roush, Resonance Records, Of Unsound Mind, and Kaluki Musik, have an unmistakeable high-energy sound, with this release proving no exception. The consistent quality of their output has already garnered staunch support from the likes of Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed, Skream, Paco Osuna, Steve Lawler and Jackmaster to name just a few, and with supporters like these backing them it is no doubt that Solardo are a duo who will come into their own in 2016.

Released earlier this year on VIVa MUSiC as part of Detlef’s mix for the ‘VIVa Warriors Season 4’ compilation, Solardo’s track ‘It’s A New Jam’ received stalwart support from pretty much everyone in the scene in Ibiza over the Summer, an early indicator to us that these boys have a lot more to offer. It is with great pleasure then that we now welcome Solardo back to VIVa MUSiC, this time with a full five-track EP to bolster the rekordboxes of DJs worldwide.

Straight outta Italy comes a powerful dose of house music presented by long-time veteran Manuel De La Mare and his Italian counterpart K.A.M.A. 'Lose Control' features heavy house rhythms with techno inspired sound design, blended together in perfect harmony, including a raucous remix from Luca Secco & Craftkind as well as deeper, yet equally powerful mix from Tom Jay. 'Lose Control' is a unique mix of dark tech atmospheres with a surprisingly upbeat groove, while the second track 'Turn Off The Light' is pure bass line goodness, perfect for those dark club settings. Luca Secco & Craftkind amp up the volume with their screeching synths countered by a refreshingly euphoric breakdown. Taking a slightly different approach, Tom Jay's remix of 'Turn Off The Light' brings a fun 90's inspired sound played along to pounding jackin' house drums.

You can take the boy out of Somerset, but you can’t take Somerset out the boy.  West country DJ/producer, Will Clarke, has spent lockdown period on his home turf, miles from the Motor City of Detroit where he usually now resides.  And a creative patch has yielded a stellar single for Dense & Pika’s on-form Kneaded Pains label, with ‘Feel The Power’.

A rasping lead line and granite hard drums define ‘Feel The Power’, delivered at a relatively moderate pace, but with no less ferocity, as its devilish vocal refrain establishes a darker tint of this pure banger.  Accompanying track, ‘Mondays’, is equally as brazen, as police sirens and white noise flash past an infectious synth lick and gut wrenching kicks.

Will Clarke has had an industrious couple of years, launching his own All We Have Is Now imprint, alongside releases for labels such as Trick, We Are The Brave, Relief and Drumcode.

Glasgow Underground was set up in 1997 by Kevin McKay. He began the label releasing his own music and collaborations with friends and other Glasgow-based artists (Omid 16b, Studio Blue, DJ Q, Harri). Through his DJing and work for various music magazines (Muzik, Jockey Slut, Mixmag Update) he met some of his favourite producers of the time (Romanthony, Mateo & Matos, Idjut Boys...) and convinced some of them to join him releasing on GU. In the early 2000s, Kevin met Mylo and set up the Breastfed record label. The global success of "Destroy Rock & Roll" meant Glasgow Underground was put on hold. After leaving the Breastfed label in 2011, Kevin re-started Glasgow Underground and since then the label has gone on to re-invigorate Romanthony's catalogue with remixes from the likes of Dixon, MCDE, Gerd, Andres, Oliver Dollar, Ejeca, Audiojack, Claptone, Christian Nielsen, Supernova, Jimmy Edgar and Waifs & Strays. The label has also introduced producers like Daniel Trim, Brett Gould, Mia Dora and Illyus & Barrientos as well has releasing established & rising stars such as Metodi Hristov, Stefano Ritteri and Sabb.
