English techno heavyweight Cleric returns to his imprint ᴄʟᴇʀɢʏ with a four track EP entitled 'Addicted To Love'. The Manchester label boss, boasts a quartet of pacey and groovy techno numbers that drift between quintessential rave euphoria, broken beat carnage and raw driving grooves.

The 25th edition of Clergy comes in hot with their third release of the year following on from Measure Divide and Kontain’s celestial releases on one of the UK’s most acclaimed techno labels. This time round, label boss Cleric flexes an impressive 12 inch.

We premier the A1 of the record entitled Addicted To Love. The track is rave soaked break-beat techno affair that is made for those goose bump dance floor moments. The 90’s influenced track is submerged with joyous and zestful stabs and vocals that make for an absolute rave anthem. There’ll be an absolute battle to play this upon the reopening of nightclubs.

This track is absolutely infectious and we look forward to hearing it in a dark room on a mammoth sized sound-system with a big grin on our faces.

We’re thrilled to resume the normal service of our Four Four premiere’s for 2022. Starting the year with a bang, as our first premiere is a stellar techno tool, from Cork DJ & producer, Hooligan.

Liam Chambers aka HOOLIGAN is a DJ and producer hailing from Cork. His approach to techno reflects images and soundscapes of the dark basements of Berlin, his love for rolling basslines and heavy hypnotic grooves, ultimately blending the old with the new.

The Cork native has been working hard to perfect his production style taking inspiration from the raw, driving sounds produced by techno legends such as Chris Liebing, Kaiser and The Advent.

Liam also plays in the techno duo ‘Southern Division’ who have been garnering a name from themselves in recent times through clinical mixing skills. The duo recently made their debut in Dublin at Tramline, alongside Shannen Blessing, Oneyra and Ventolin and are also regulars in the Kino back home in Cork.

HOOLIGAN’s track is a raw example of where the young producer wants to bring his productions. High Voltage is a vigorous, loop driven, techno tool. The track is a rolling 909 groove, alarming synths, cavernous bass & revolting energy. This track is peak-time dancefloor energy.

Olan! pushes the boundaries of techno with 0x01 Records’ 10th release.

Following on from the ‘Uplink’ EP on the label earlier this year, Olan! returns to their Zurich based 0x01 Records with the ‘State Transition’ EP. Since 2013 the imprint has become a home for experimental techno, garnering the support of VTSS, I Hate Models and Rebekah, with Olan! being dubbed as one of Mixmag’s ‘best live modular acts you can watch online’ alongside the likes of Surgeon, Karenn and Ansome.

The menacing stabs and booming kickdrums of the title track open the EP with unbridled fury, sizzling sparks jumping around and between each hammering hit. While ‘State Transition’ takes you to the workshop, ‘Usstärbe’ is a playful take on the wealth-obsessed Swiss middle class, its title referencing German author and critic of post-modern capitalism Sybille Berg. The track features arpeggiating bleeps, an erratic hoover sound and Olan!’s playful and ironic financial advise.

Bright, exhilarating synths and an emotional breakdown create a sense of euphoria in ‘Nonlife into Mind’, slowly bracing the listener for the broken signals and mysterious dark energies of closing track ‘Coda for the Damaged Interpreter’. 0x01 Records’ tenth release delivers a compelling story across four tracks told through Olan!’s signature weld of intricate sound design and functional techno

MIND THIEF is my first self-released EP as Hycastle. I started these tracks in 2022 while deep in addiction, coping with complex grief and trauma. Happy to say I’m releasing it sober and empowered.

This isn’t a pretty EP. It’s sharp, chaotic, over-the-top, and unbalanced. Most of it was made under the influence, and it was a pain in the ass to make these tracks even remotely listenable. But the energy of these tracks kept pulling me back to finish and release them, even if they sounded harsh.

This project taught me the power of letting go and embracing music in its raw, imperfect form. Chasing perfection isn’t the point. Music is power, and power is meant to be shared. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just free your music!
