Heartache Is A Girl's Best Friend

 The Glass Cherry Breakers is a band that was just waiting to happen. They just recently won The Grand Prize winner of the 3rd Philippine Blues Competition sponsored by the Philippine Blues Society.

Vocalist Maegan Aguilar and Guitarist Sammy Asuncion have been collaborating on and off on various musical projects since the 90’s.

Fast forward to 2011, the two decided to finally sit down and officially form a band; a Blues band to be specific. Since then, the ‘Breakers have been writing songs and gigging, bringing the Blues to different audiences around Manila.

After several personnel changes in the rhythm section, the right combination was found with the addition of Niki Cabardo (keys), Louie Talan (bass) and Boyet Aquino (drums). It is with this final lineup that the ‘Breakers sound truly came to be: A rock-solid foundation with urgent vocals and searing guitar following close behind. Their sound has been described by many as “fiery”.
