I know that one of the beautiful things about music is that it can mean so many things to so many different people. To me this felt like the calm *during* the storm - not before, not after - that there's a moment of peace with the undercurrent/subconscious feeling that the storm isn't finished yet and you should really make the most of the peace while it's here. Of course, maybe I'm just reading too much into it and transferring too many of my own feelings onto your evocative music ;-)

Grasshoppers

I recently starred in a baby commercial with my 10 month old, and I also scored it.  I can't name the brand at this time, so for now I'm just calling this "Baby Commercial Music." I feel like it really captured the emotion of the spec that we filmed - that talked about the challenges of raising a family while pursuing a busy career in music - and what a blessing children have been in our lives. So worth all the sleepless nights. :)

Baby Commercial Music

I don't share sneak peeks very often too early, but I had to share this with you today.  This is a clip of the Theme from Home Alone that I arranged for piano, and the orchestration was done by Glen Gabriel.  Most of you are familiar with this music, but what you don't know is how INCREDIBLY difficult John William's music is.  I wrote the arrangement by ear after listening to the recording on repeat, sometimes in 1 measure increments trying to decipher the notes.  And Glen....Glen.  His orchestration on this is pure genius.  Not many people attempt to re-orchestrate John Williams music because he is considered a genius in his field, not to mention that it's almost impossible to replicate.  I think Glen not only did an outstanding job recreating what John Williams did, but also putting his own personal spin on it.  I think he did a credit to Mr. Williams and if he ever hears this rendition, I would hope he would like it.

P.S. This is a ROUGH track, meaning it is 1) not mixed, 2) not mastered, 3) piano levels are low, and 4) the real strings have not been added yet, just the digital.  Enjoy!

Sneak Peek (From "Winter Symphony") - "Theme From Home Alone"

The title track on Jennifer's new album, Winter Symphony.  This is an original composition written by Jennifer, inspired by "Winter" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. You will also hear a little bit of "Carol of the Bells" in this track, all combined with her signature epic orchestral sound.  

Winter Symphony recently won "Album of the year 2015" in music critic Michael Debbages's "Top 20 of 2015". The album has also stayed consistently in the top 20 on Amazon's Hot New Releases charts for 6 weeks in a row since releasing Nov 20th, 2015.  The album also reached the #6 position on iTunes Best Selling Christmas Albums.

Hi Everyone! I wasn't going to release this song for a few more months, but I am submitting it to the Hollywood Music in Media Awards tonight so I decided to do it today!

I hope you like my new piano composition, "Ascension".  I composed, performed and recorded it in my home studio.  There are no words to describe the amount of joy I experience when creating music (especially when I'm at home drinking lukewarm coffee and wearing sweatpants). The act of making music ascends me to amazing worlds.  I hope listening to it does too!

Ascension: The Dubstep Piano Song

Some of you have been wondering about the film I'm scoring - so here is a VERY VERY rough mix of a cue I have been working on.  Keep in mind no mixing, no mastering, and a little rough.  This short film is a Western drama called "Desert Rose" about a woman who's husband gets shot and killed by a random stranger, and she decides to revenge his death.  This cue in particular is deciding she is going to find the killer, and she begins her journey through the desert.

Glen Gabriel is an award-winning film composer and music producer primarily in the field of orchestral scores combined with electronica.
 
With over 20 feature films under his belt, including one of James Cameron’s viral projects The Game Changers (produced by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic etc), 100 commercial major brands and about 700 TV episodes, he is no stranger to cinematic music.
 
Starting out as a child he spent lots of time getting advice from artists from the biggest Management company in Europe owned by his father. Because of this he met with many professionals in the industry, such as the only Swede who toured with Elvis Presley (Per-Erik Hallin), family friend and legend Chick Corea and world-famous author Astrid Lindgren.
 
In 2006 Glen released his first album to the public, gaining momentum online. His music reached thousands each day and was asked to write music for films and promos. While writing music for brands such as Gillette, Coke Zero, Mercedes, Lipton, Electrolux, AT&T, XBox and Nike to mention a few, he wrote orchestral arrangements for bands and rock stars, including Miljenko Matijevic from STEELHEART collaboration with Robby Krieger from legendary band The Doors to mention a few.
 
Glen’s ability to fusion many genres have taken him from producing award-winning albums featured in the Olympics to composing ballet for the Opera House of Zurich.
