Bristol singer-songwriter Robi Mitch creates vibrant indie rock drawing on traces of Motown, 60s pop and 70s psychedelia as well as global music scenes. Robi's experiences as a session guitarist based out of Taipei lend a distinctiveness to his sound.

Named after Bob Dylan and Robin Williamson of the Incredible String Band, Robi has a certain songwriting pedigree. As a lyricist he plays activist, poet and philosopher, blending humour with melancholy, whimsy and existential disquietude. Loki Lillistone (Bristol In Stereo) put it best when he said that “Robi's timeless songwriting unravels not dissimilarly to Cass McCombs'.” There is a certain looseness present which is hard to define but easy to recognise, and which appeals immediately to those for whom it is already familiar. Perhaps this is the true essence of the quality we call “soul.”

Heralding her forthcoming album ‘Reflections’ on BBE Music, harp player and composer Alina Bzhezhinska (aka AlinaHipHarp) presents ‘Soul Vibrations’, the first single taken from the project.

Alongside her HipHarpCollective, Alina Bzhezhinska creates a unique sound on the harp with layered effects and electronics, combining original works and covers to pay homage to some of jazz, funk and hip-hop’s greatest innovators.

Album ‘Reflections’ features a blend of original compositions and covers of works by some of Bzhezhinska’s greatest influences, including ‘Soul’ Vibrations’, originally record by the pioneering composer and harpist Dorothy Ashby.

“This iconic tune captured my imagination when I first listened to her album, Afro-Harping” says Alina. “I decided to make my own version of this tune by writing an arrangement that represents vibrating strings of the heart. I open the album with Soul Vibrations, as I wanted to show my deepest respect to my role model.”

Album ‘Reflections’ will be released in September 2022, on vinyl, CD and digital formats.

El título sugiere un ritual nocturno, íntimo y subversivo, donde la vulnerabilidad y la energía masculina se transforman en un acto colectivo y poético. El “aquelarre” no se entiende como algo oscuro, sino como una celebración mística de lo humano, lo erótico y lo espiritual en simultáneo.

Musicalmente, el disco explora:

Breakbeat orgánico con grooves fragmentados.

Riffs de bajo acid jazz y líneas cálidas.

Texturas lo-fi (cintas, vinilo, reverbs soñadas).

Voces andróginas y cálidas con letras poéticas en español.

Atmósferas ambientales (viento, agua, ecos naturales) que envuelven al oyente.

🎶 Narrativa sonora

Cada track se plantea como un pasaje ritual, con estructura más cercana al pop/lo-fi que al club mix.

Intro: atmósferas ambientales + pads.

Versos y coros: voces poéticas y cercanas.

Breakdowns: silencios llenos de texturas naturales.

Outros: cierres elegantes, como desvanecimientos en la madrugada.

Vinilo: rosa pálido iridiscente, con manchas blancas suaves.

Etiqueta: textura de piel humana con un patrón casi invisible de símbolos masculinos, como glifos rituales.

Tipografía: negra, minimalista, moderna.

Estética: surrealista, delicada, entre lo sensual y lo hipnótico.
