Maxee Gee has been working within GWR Kollektive for a good number of years so far. After spinning around with some quick on hand dubplates and collab tracks on GWR’s previous releases, it’s time to come out with something yet finished and present the 4-track solo EP straight from the GWR’s headquarters. Tune “For Real” was banging around for some time pleasing people with its intelligent vibe and easy footwork flow. “Gyal” is a way more powerful footwork-jungle tune with heavy amen drop and mystical brain-cracking synths. Tunes “Junglist Girls” and “Kotorayashot” are straight forward good old style ragga-jungle business to make the crowd go wild and smash the dancefloor.

All tracks are mixed and mastered by Mikhail Simonov (Moz).

Maxee Gee - Me And Ma Flava EP

A literal interpretation of John Cage's proposition:  “The sound of a truck at fifty miles per hour. Static between the stations. Rain. We want to capture and control these sounds, to use them, not as sound effects, but as musical instruments.” 
It comprises a number of short recordings of the above-mentioned elements, randomly assembled into three longer sequences played simultaneously.

morning Glory ( Naviarhaiku 355 )

I sat down to make music with the intention of finding a way to express my emotions at the moment, and I was confronted with a wall of mental noise, presented to me by all the music technology at my disposal. While I struggled to find my heart, my mind was busy thinking about technology and technique. After a bit of discussion with @dr.no and @Hawthorn, decided to run with that as the concept for the piece. This is the result. 

I decided to also take inspiration from #disquiet0460 and start with a tortured, complicated sound (evocative of the mental "noise" that comes from using music tech for expression) and transitions to the starting point, then returns to the chaos. 

I started with a simple arpeggio on a nylon guitar (which I later changed to a synth sound). Added a Bitwig Micro-pitch device set to an obscure Wilson scale, and added a send track with Output Portal (granulated pitch transformations in this case) & Thermal (more glitchy feedback fx) on it. Added automation to start with Micro-pitch wet, FX send volume, and global tempo set very high, decrescendo, and then re-crescendo, over the course of the track.

"Dordts Licht" van De Band Loopt uit Dordrecht was op zaterdag 2 januari voor het eerst  in de uitzending Studio De Witt uitzending op Drechtstad FM en Papendrecht FM te horen.
Dordtenaar Randy Derkhof kende het liedje ‘Als op het Leidseplein de lichtjes weer eens branden gaan’.  Hij had dit in het verleden met een ander bandje gespeeld. Het gaat over  hoop en licht en is de verwoording van een groot verlangen naar het einde van de “corona oorlog”
De link naar de huidige tijd was zo gelegd. ‘Het is natuurlijk geen oorlog, maar we hopen allemaal dat deze zo door het coronavirus bepaalde periode snel over is’ zegt Randy. Barbara heeft de tekst van ‘als op het Leidseplein’ aangepast. Randy heeft de muziek opnieuw gearrangeerd.
De weken van de Dordtse lichtproject Dwaalspoor vielen precies samen met het tot stand komen van dit liedje, dat door bevriende muzikanten, alle 5 met een liefde voor Dordrecht, los van elkaar, in hun eigen huis, is opgenomen. 
Doordat het Dwaalspoor te veel bezoekers naar het centrum trok, heeft de gemeente Dordrecht moeten besluiten hiermee te stoppen. 
Met dit lied hopen Barbara Elzerman ( zang), Marcel Koster 
( accordeon en percussie), Kees Elsman ( mondharmonica), Johan Struik ( contrabas), Randy Derkhof( zang en gitaar)
dat iedereen gauw weer samen, verbonden en vrij kan genieten van Dordrecht, de mooie luchten en het prachtige licht.

Police Action - disquiet0474

Disquiet Junto Project 0474 – Complete a trio by adding a track to an existing duet by two other musicians.

How do I start? Singing is always dangerous, if you are not a singer… No… okay, this way: Some children can only be loved by their parents… one must stand by one's misdeeds … my microphone was broken … the true beauty of music is that it connects us, yes, this is it! 

I startet with the playlist https://soundcloud.com/disquiet/sets/disquiet-junto-project-0473 and went to "around the middle of it" and started listening until I found something I liked: https://soundcloud.com/disquiet/sets/disquiet-junto-project-0473 by https://soundcloud.com/daniel-diaz (guitar) and https://soundcloud.com/ray_cobley (synth). The strange mixture felt right and asked for some voice.

So I improvised with the text given by the titles (and some extra text). I did two takes. I added as much plugins as possible to hide the fact that I can't sing. As you can hear: Neither can I sing, nor am I able to hide it with production gimmicks.

Anyway, after slicing my vocals I somehow liked it. Yes, you will have to listen to it 20 times, drinking some high octane booze, but then you will discover the hidden beauty of this track. Thanks, guys, I really had a lot of fun with this!
