Stephen Covey said " The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing" What is the main thing in the Kingdom of God? When the teachers of the law asked Jesus about the main thing he responded with two things. Love the Lord your God and Love your neighbor as yourself. This is so good and true but we can also acknowledge that without the unmerited love of God toward us first... we would never be able to love God back and love others. So perhaps the main thing is to believe that God is love and that He loves me. Yes but I already understood that with my mind. The question I have is, "what will it take for that understanding in my heart to become a revelation in my heart that transforms how I live my life?" Perhaps abiding is a crucial part of the answer. Make space for the Holy Spirit to work these truths deeper into our lives.
