The creation of remixes from the most nostalgic songs of the past twenty years can be very progressive! The nostalgic collage does not necessarily references to a clearly identifiable historical period or a personally lived experience. It is possible to feel nostalgic for a time one has never experienced. The Russian-American artist and writer Svetlana Boym describes nostalgia as “a longing for a home that no longer exists or has never existed”.
In this sense, nostalgia evokes an attachment that does not primarily recalls the past, but rather expresses a longing for an imagined place or emotional state that constructs itself in the moment nostalgic felling emerges. #RickRubin
