The plan was set in stone and now the wheels were in motion. This time it had to be foolproof, he couldn't risk being caught again - each time the punishment had been more severe. The promise of freedom kept him going, he'd do whatever he could to escape this place, he should never have been sent here to begin with. That night, as the building fell silent and the lights dimmed to black, he awaited the signal and prayed that this time he would not fail.

It's been 9 years since Playground came into existence and they're commemorating this musical journey with the help of friends and family from across the world. Starting as a party in their original home of Buenos Aires, the crew behind it have grown to become a label platform for international artists who are pushing the boundaries of hypnotic electronic music.

This milestone is being celebrated with a sprawling compilation that features the sounds that represent the past, present and future of the imprint. Arno E. Mathieu is back for the 3rd release on his journey of CONTEMPLATION on Compost Records, and it’s all about a Cyclades Island musical spirit.
Once again, as a tribute to the Mediterranean culture and landscape, this new piece of music is a cinematic mix of percussive rhythms, catchy bass line and aerial melodies, taking the form of a walk through the island’s paths and seaside.
Starting with deep & abstract voices and ghostly guitars, INSULAE shortly turns to a sunny balearic expression with percussions and fresh synth, over-flied with dreamy guitars. The bass line then comes to support the bongo pattern, just before an anthemic melody introducing a synthetic voice them that shows us the road until a cliff over the Aegean sea.
As a guest remixer in this Cyclades wandering, the renowned and talented french producer I:Cube stays true to the original vibe, but adding a twist of deepness and modernity with dub effects and drum machine, staying focus on the main elements and driving the track untill an opened and unlighted mood, making the original percussions rolling till the end of the progression.

Hailing from Odessa in Ukraine, Komilev found a new home in Spain amidst the war in his home country, and fortunately he’s been able to return to making the excellent music that has seen him release on Disco Halal, Watergate Records and Frau Blau. He debuts here on Exploited Club with two haunting, sophisticated gems. 

Delicate piano chords draw us into the graceful ‘Supreme’, which builds so very effortlessly. The pitter-patter of nagging synth line buzzes around cowbell and snare hits and detuned pads which soar dizzyingly in the distance. From the breakdown comes a breakbeat section which lets the dreamy elements of this track really spread their wings, before a pleasingly cheap sounding synth-guitar arpeggio bursts into life, sprinkling some euphoric energy into the proceedings. Delayed notes provide the icing on the cake.

‘Cuseni’ channels ‘80s synth-pop energy, a sparse broken beat rhythm peppered with Linn drum snares creating a haunting feel which is bolstered by the juicy walking bassline and shimmering electric organ stabs. A succinct but highly effective lead line follows the bassline’s progression, before we delve into a pitch-bending organ breakdown. Next comes a bold plucked synth riff that Depeche Mode would be proud of which sends the track well and truly into orbit.

The fourth release on our imprint includes two modern disco tracks coming from Claudio Brioschi aka Brioski featuring Ruvido's usual suspect Luca Saponaro aka Sapo: the Back Home EP, out on the 8th of September. The record begins with 'Back Home' a downtempo track with African disco nuances driven by a relentless groove. The track features vocals and distorted guitars to create a unique sound, a magically perfect tune for starting warm-up sets or breaking the 4/4 routine 'We Can't Stop' is pure disco energy: in-your-face bassline, ever-changing rhythms, dreamy romance-style melody, all crafted to make the dancefloor EXPLODE.

After a long hiatus Klaus Benedek comes back on his own mothership Fortunea Records with a brand-new production. ‚Tombstone’ heralds the autumn. You can feel the melancholy that brings the end of the warm and bright days with it. Although the subject matter is dark and eerie, the track wanders with its epic instrumentation through pensive optimism. The remarkable chopped hookline and the concise and soft bassline are casted in a flowing deep sounded carpet full of hope. An epic excursion that you definitely should give a try.

A considerable move into a different sound sphere goes Berlin-based artist and Tieffrequent-founder Siggatunez. He has had an outstanding array of vital productions this year and with his remix he lets you „feel the unknown“. In a very detailed way he made a serious dancefloor intended track, in the signature style of his current output, where beats and groove take the lead, but keeping the soul of the original with the use of its pads, strings and bass.

Tombstone will come out on limited 200 copy vinyl and in its digital form on streaming services and download stores on the 27th of october. There will be no repress!
