The next GLBDOM tape shamelessly broadcasts something more than a musical history into the mouthpiece of the era. The playful intro with Kelis' voice instantly sets a suitable rhythmic texture, hinting at a multi-genre evolution within the compilation. First, a tub of burning, aggressive bottoms pours out on the top of the head, flows down the ears with organ synthesizers and tickles the cheekbones with sensitive hats.

Everything becomes more serious when a high-voltage jungle and an assertive swing with a booming, angrily mumbling bass line are alternately wedged into the carefree prowess. Arrogance is quickly knocked down by weightless melodies with rare blues scales and dreamy echoes of Eurodance, packed in classic UKG.

Here and there you can hear the expressive riddle of breakstep mixed with growing landscape pads and agile snare, and in places a notorious raga style seeps through, demonstrating a true gangster bearing.

London’s Kylin Tyce teams up with the Tessellate crew to release four slick, 2-step tracks including a remix from Moodswing label boss Perception.

London based Kylin Tyce is a new artist on the circuit with an ear for ambient soundscapes, rolling beats and intricate percussion. His sound takes inspiration from the realms of early UK Garage paired with forward-thinking House & Techno which can be heard on his releases on labels such as Oldivibes, PIV and Render. You can either find Kylin behind the counter at the London record shop Phonica or playing regularly at clubs in and around the capital where he aims to take you on a journey through both old and new realms of electronic music whilst providing a continuous vibe to the dance floor. ‘Do Your Thing’ sees him join the London based event series and record label Tessellate following releases from artists such as T. Jacques, Alex Pervukhin, Firmin and Aleksandir.

Perception who is known for his renowned vinyl only sets and releases on DPR Records, Dr Banana and his Moodswing imprint provides a bumpy remix of ‘Thinkin’ featuring warming pads, silky garage-tinged percussion, and honeyed vocal snippets from the original.

SUNDAY STEPPER SOCIETY SESSION 002 - MAHJONG WITH THE AUNTIES

After a few months of lockdown. The Sunday Stepper Society in the DimSumDistrict opens it's doors again for their weekly Mahjong sessions. We had an opportunity to speak to a small handful of these happy 'aunties' who haven't had a chance to play for a while. With one of the aunties saying "The over 2000 year old game is timeless and generation - bringing me closer and more curious about my Chinese heritage." Also an activity that has brought communities together according to another Auntie.

To provide the sunday energy influenced rhythms for these amazing and strong women are 5 artists that we have been amazed by. Big Up Alfredo Romero, Cooke, Donny Rotten, EYRA and Luke Hazell for helping us execute this idea with tracks of different styles. All showing appreciation of the tunes at the downtempo and more mellow end of the spectrum of steppy riddims.
