Originally debuted on Dixon’s formidable Essential Mix in September, Downtown Party Network ft Egle Sirvydyte dropped ‘Space Me Out’ on Silence Music along with remixes from Musk, Mario Basanov and Hannes Fischer back in 2013. After much critical acclaim and being well-played by many top-djs, the track is now remixed by Downtown Party Network into this sparkling 2014 version. Aleksei Nikitin, whose first release kindled the GOST ZVUK history (and whose brilliantly sparkish "Ledyanoy Album" was issued on the label a couple of years ago), goes back to Ground Zero after his trilogy on Figure and REKIDS' "Atoner" LP. All four tracks of the ninth GOST INSTRUMENT's vinyl present a rather way-out approach, surprisingly uncommon for Aleksei's form style. But this seemed minimalism tends to be valid only at first glance. Starting from plain rhythm, "Elektromechanika's" further groove is drifting on lots of tousled synths. "Far Voices", an exercise in interweaving of echoes and voice samples, ends right at the moment when you expect track's next iteration. The B-side is not without surprises too: the acid beat of "Oasis" rises almost suddenly after drone-alike "Monothone". Summarizing all the above, getting into this record is not only the extremely clear case, but you should also try to play it from random track, or even in "B2-A1" order.

By the pricking of their thumbs, something wicked this way comes. With their second, long playing installment, the duo goes full-blown gloom. Are there really only two of them? These voices speak and sing to you, while orchestrations are multi-layered, bizarre, meticulously structured. Or abrasive and chaotic? Ambience hums, while strings cut through eerie atmosphere and deep beats roll. A bad witch? She chants sweet sorrow and loss, with undertones beautiful though haunted and possessed. With Russian lyrics in folkish manner these eight songs are heard from your ceiling, distant yet so close. They might as well be singing on your grave.

Глум — мрак, голос забвения, русский trip-hop, где русский не есть российский, а trip-hop не канон. Про друга с острыми рогами и копытцами, о случаях в которых слез не видно, героине с иллюстрации Ивана Билибина, но на фоне асфальта, стекла и бетона. Холодный оскал в мелодиях и аранжировках, этника не в формате, а эмоции. Дважды захочешь танцевать, пытаясь продавить слюной комок в груди.

Ни капли жалости, сгину и разложусь.
