"I began djing after being inspired by my friends at @clubsync who threw parties in Adelaide around 2016/2017. The club scene has been apart of my life for a while and that led me to put on my own events with @nausea000. My style is a mix of experimental, club and indie, ranging from new to nostalgic sounds."

"I grew up listening to such an eclectic mix of sounds when I was younger as my mum was fresh out of the rave scene. Passing down this knowledge to me, my sound is influenced by 90s rave, jungle, techno, and house. I never touched a set of decks until YourShot 2023, but always craved to get up on stage. I always want to get out there and spin a few tracks, to whoever will listen."

I was raised listening to old school trance and hardstyle and have grown a deep love for the genres ever since. I've recently starting producing and aim to have tracks out by 2023!

GLOSS Guest Mix 3 - HELENE

In the past I’ve mainly mixed traditional techno and dnb but am moving towards fusing experimental dnb, fluid tek, as well as incorporating Indigenous sounds. My sets are highly influenced by my current emotions, life experiences and strongly tied to my Indigenous culture which I am keen to further represent through my music.

My life surrounds music and it always has. 

You can often find me behind the mic at Three D radio, chatting shit, talking to people, celebrating the local scene and playing an elaborate array of music. It only makes sense for me to have ended up behind a set of decks. 

As one of the curators of Gloss, we are growing a platform solely for Adelaide Female/Non Binary DJs. I feel this is a missed opportunity in Adelaide which is so so valuable to the scene whilst also being a fulfilling expression of my feminist ideology. 

Gloss is a space to highlight the strong, radiating talent from Female/Non Binary DJs ! 

Acid house, progressive trance, and techno are the genres that make up my mix. Incredible producer/DJs Aldonna, DJ Jean, New Composers all feature x

GLOSS Guest Mix .5 - zoe.g

"From childhood, I have had a passion for music. I began playing the piano and creating music in primary school. Due to my dance background, I had a natural talent for beats and enjoyed mixing tracks to dance to. I started using GarageBand and similar apps to mash up tracks on my first iPad. As I grew up and delved into rave culture, I decided to reignite my love for music by curating the sounds of the night and giving back to the scene I love so much. 

I have always dreamed of hosting my own parties, and as someone who deeply cares about social issues, it was essential to me to create an event that could have a significant impact on the scene. The vision behind Gloss was to create a space exclusively for female and non-binary DJs, to highlight talented individuals who are often overlooked due to biases in the industry. 

My sound revolves around upbeat, bouncy tracks with an emphasis on ghetto tech and trance. My inspiration comes from the European techno scene, and I enjoy incorporating various hip hop tracks into my music. Ghetto tech has been my medium to combine these sounds and create my unique style."
