Glo Stars' debut recording is an ode to the album as a cohesive work of art and is equal parts psychedelic experimentation and pop sensibility. With a respect to Beatlesque melody, a dash of Dylanesque lyrical flair, and Radiohead(esque?) penchant for diversity within sonic textures, Glo Stars is a genre-bending head trip that will encourage the listener to experience an album as an album.

On the seventh floor of washout stains
Thirty people live with quite the same amount of room
Every door a different person’s tomb

He has his pipe and parakeet
She plays her records ‘cross the carpet street but never calls
Across the dingy, cheaply rented halls

Like grandma’s dolls

And they both blame it on that nothing’s on their television’s set
To be tossed out to the curb, ash piles of potential 
To be more then just neighbor noise,

Reminds them leave their air conditioners on before they go
Away to burgers, banks, and hospitals

Cycling to the endless cycle’s throb
Practiced smiles lying that they really love their jobs
And in their mirrors they see their dad and mom

When will the storm be calmed down? I’m tired of all the tears splashing around?

I sure can’t find the point of this storm.

Because all of this violence swells and drown out his vocals
Like Edgar Allan Poe’s bells, bells, bells, bells, bells.

The longer my Saviour stays soundly asleep 
And they look, they look to be nible and quick
Those cumulonimbus that make my heart sick
Until the Son rises out of the boat
He looks at these waves, I know He’s in control and He says to the clouds 
“I am thy God.”

The Storm

In the end, the song should stand by itself.

 That's the goal of Nashville's new psyche-folk outfit Glo Stars who, for all their sonic experimentation and mind-bending chord progressions, never detract from poetic lyrics and beautiful melodies. Childlike wonder combines with world-weary ache to foster a project that feels like Brian Wilson met Radiohead in Lou Reed's garage.   
  
Blending both solid musicianship and showmanlike artistry Glo Stars is a cosmic yet playful musical voyage that will leave audiences celebrating life with all its beauty and pain intertwined. Songwriter Josh Ski and drummer Peter Jenkins bring a free-wheeling troubadour vibe that leaves both performers and listeners with a cathartic sense of unity after every show.
