Bartosz Glowacki - De Profundis 
Gubaidulina was born in the Tartar Republic, USSR, in 1931 and has become one of the most important composers of the last two decades of the Soviet Union and the first decade of the Russian Republic. Of all active major composers, she has shown the most interest in using the classical accordion. This interest may have grown from her involvement in the 1970s with a group of composers interested in assembling ancient and traditional instruments and writing highly modern classical music for them.
"De Profundis" is the opening of the Latin translation of the 130th Psalm, rendered in English as "Out of the depths [I call to Thee, O Lord]." The music begins in the instrument's lowest register and slowly ascends to its bright top notes. Various textures are used, from a chorale idea that represents hope, to a long single-line melody suggesting prayer. Unusual techniques are also used, from glissandi, shuddering vibratos and the sighing sound of the instrument's bellows. The work was written in consultation with the player Friederich Lips, who premiered it in Moscow in 1980.

Bartosz Glowacki is one of the leading lights of a new generation of accordionists. His artistic goal is to continue to improve awareness of the accordion in classical music, as well as to develop a new repertoire for his instrument.

 

Bartosz graduated from The Royal Academy of Music receiving Bachelor's and Master's Degree with distinction as well as being honoured with Regency Award.
He won the Polish Young Musician of the Year in 2009, following which he represented Poland in the final of Eurovision YoungMusicians Competition in Vienna. He is a winner of many National, as well as International Music Competitions. Bartosz is one of the 2015 Artist of the City Music Foundation and recipient of Zygmunt Zaleski Stichting scholarship. He won Sir John Manduell Prize at The Bromsgrove International Musicians Competition 2018.
 

As a soloist he has performed in many prestigious concert halls, The Wigmore Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, The Purcell Room, Salle Cortot, The Colston Hall, Studio SI of The Polish National Radio, and many others. His solo recitals have been described as extremely engaging and inspiring. 
 

As well as being a soloist, Bartosz is extremely active chamber musician. He is           a founding member of The Deco Ensemble.
During his career he collaborated with many great musicians of wide variety of music such as Nigel Kennedy, Trevor Pinnock, Atom String Quartet, Tanita Tikaram, and many others. Bartosz has worked with musical institutions like The Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet, The National Theatre, London Symphony Orchestra, The Chroma Ensemble, London Sinfonietta and many others.
 

Bartosz just recorded his debut solo album which will be released at the beginning of 2019 featuring original accordion compositions along with adventures transcriptions.
