Carefully stratified layers of sound radiate across German skies in delicate hues as Rauschhaus reimagines the "Belt of Venus". Rippling arpeggios shimmer in the evening light to produce a surround sound; hypnotic rhythms of powerful precision scatter across the skyline.

A rising star in the underground dance galaxy, Koelle hits high notes with colourful abandon. A nonchalant and relaxed groove is the perfect antidote for day's end. Building with searing analogue lead that climbs in noon heat, the setting sun provides a warm nourishing glow.

Dutch mastery paints a bright and vivid picture through Deeparture's intricate sonic palette. A subtly oscillating rhythm provides a backdrop for a landscape of glistening delayed keys akin to pinpricks of light in an ever-darkening sky. Betoko & Paul Sawyer return to ICONYC with the remix edition of ''I'll Be Here' which also featured heavily as the title song of the first ICONYC TV season. The duo's last outings on the label were received to high acclaim – with big support from the big player's brigade at the time. With their long-awaited return we get a slice of spring vibes with 4 outstanding reworks of their classic anthem. Betoko kicks things off nicely with his interpretation, the melancholic moodiness of his rework shines through as we meander effortlessly through 80's inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. 

The first remix comes courtesy of Blaktone, famed for their intricate and refined productions on labels such as Selador, Sincopat and Mango Alley to name a few. The duo delivers a great take on 'I'll be Here'. Their rework creates tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth techno edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a deep glow, creating an air of sophistication. 

Next up we welcome Berlin based Tony Casanova for his debut on the label. Tony who is known for his polished and driven sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – Tony's touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove. 

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of MXV who returns to the label for the second time. The UK based producer delivers a wonderful floating deep mix with infectious chords, intense drums and smooth breakdown. It's all about the groove, silky house vibes and the despondent beats that are working their magic around MXV's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible rhythm while clever chords take the mind on a trip. A truly beautiful cultivated rework. 

The remix edition of Betoko & Paul Sawyer's 'I'll Be Here' manages to deliver a message of sustained musical relevance in emphatic fashion to warm the soul. Not to be missed! 'I'll Be Here' sees a worldwide release on April 27th, 2020 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!

Continuing a strong start to the year, Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes Nicolas Leonelli & Luciano Rego to the label for their debut single. Hailing from Buenos Aires, Nicolas Leonelli has risen into one of Argentina’s new progressive music talents. Since making his debut just about two years ago, releases via Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, Clubsonica Records, One Of A Kind and Strangers Beats have all been sensational. Now teaming up with fellow countryman Luciano Rego for his first ever release, the duo debut on Soundteller with ‘Spring Breeze’ alongside remixes from Christian Monique and Monojoke.

Beginning with the original mix Nicolas and Luciano craft a summery progressive house sound. Aptly titled, a shapely groove, glowing arps and seagull samples highlight the nine minute storyboard. Flowing smoothly throughout, piano stabs and rising atmospheres emerge at perfect moments to give the track a nostalgic, reflective feel, while never losing site of it’s rock solid, percussive groove.

Continuing to deliver great material is Christian Monique who has established himself as one of Italy’s top progressive house producers. A prolific 2020 was highlighted with releases for 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection, Deepwibe Underground, Droid9 Limited and Nature Rec. Now presenting his first production of 2021, Christian delivers a gorgeous version of ‘Spring Breeze’. Taking a cue from the original, the Italian artist creates a more muscular, drummy version filled with the heartfelt themes from it’s predecessor. Heavy percussion provides a strong rhythmic theme with a gorgeous final break tipping the emotive scales just right.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Spring Breeze’ is Monojoke who returns to the label following his ‘Life Source’ EP from August of last year. The Polish artist adds great depth to the release with a deeper, more organic sounding rendition. Smooth and groovy from the outset, the relationship between the rhythmic and melodic elements is lovely. Progressively more poignant as the narrative evolves, it’s warm bass swells, wispy effects and fragmented gull samples work emotional wonders, while the main break brings the mood down just a touch for a groovy finale. A sensational remix from Monojoke which caps off an excellent release for Soundteller, who continue a strong start to the year. Highly recommended.
