In his words: This mix incorporates minimalist techno and electro nods, spotlighting some of my Detroit favorites resulting in a cerebral sound, bordering on psychosis. Ultimately, I always return to what's familiar—my mainstream sensibilities.

Peet the Scholar (they/them/theirs) is a Filipino/a/x/? dancer, choreographer, and DJ residing in Lenape-Canarsie land currently known as Brooklyn, New York. Follow them @peteralfredelizalde for updates regarding their work in progress combining contemporary dance and club culture, "the discotech is where i go to experience unmatched joy and profound sadness".

In their words: This mix is giving a fun collection of bouncy, heartfelt house tracks, trance-y moments, and pop remixes that teeters in and out of booty clapping and groovy euphoria. This particular mix was really inspired by DJ Disciple and Henry Kronk's book "The Beat, The Scene, and The Sound" - I sought to achieve a cross-genre composition of track layering to create entirely new tracks. I hope you will all feel the moments of *glue* throughout this mix with me.

Ezra is a self-described "multi-genre DJ mixing for music nerds and internet users", focusing on a range of club sounds and styles. In particular, they're interested in house, trance, and happy hardcore, working with longer drawn-out blending and complex layering. 

In their words: With this mix, I was aiming to capture the 'end of the night' feeling when the sun is rising and you're walking home with your friends. Lots of shiny and bright but less energetic tracks - it was an interesting challenge to try to create a mix that starts out higher energy and progressively slows down, ending on a calmer note, which is the opposite of how I usually structure mixes.

Scruff Angel (Dom) is a DJ and partier interested in the blend of traditional House/Club and a distinctly Latino sound. With a long family history in NYC, he is interested in meshing his Dominican roots with the bitchy sounds of modern queer club music to expand what it means to find joy, love, and community in nightlife spaces.

In his words: I recorded this at 10am after a night out at the club and it is a distinctly daytime mix. There is a particular joy, sexiness, and mystery to the comedown - after a night dancing when the sun comes up and you feel hopeful and curious of what's going to happen next. This mix feels playful, trying to capture the feeling of summer, waiting for your crush to come over, sex with the windows open...

CassiDJ is drawn to DJing's duality: cater to the crowd, but still be yourself. More than a decade of exploring the many creative pockets of Brooklyn nightlife (plus a brief stint in Berlin) has yielded a diverse and playful DJ style that gives the crowd what they want while surprising them with unique selections that transcend genre.

In their own words: a walk home from the club alone after a long night-into-day and all the swirling thoughts and sounds that go with it. the cityscape sounds like techno and melodies waft from passing cars. content from post-party catharsis yet anxious to get home -- the birds have been chirping for a while and the yearning is starting to set back in.

microfossil is a nyc-based dj. he loves house music and he loves the dance floor!

In his words: This mix is an attempt to encapsulate my very favorite hours of the rave, those surrounding sunrise, in the 5-7 am area. We enter the club with high energy already built up from a night of dancing. As we settle into the gray period before the sun has risen but when the night has already started to end, the music gets murkier; our bodies and minds start to process the night. Once sunlight is filtering through onto the dancefloor, shimmering melodies announce a release of energy towards a celebration of the night we’ve had and of relationships built and nurtured on the dancefloor.

gabe is ok likes to go out dancing and have a good time in New York City. He (allegedly) likes to DJ and produce freaky electronic music too, and at one point used to throw parties in Oakland’s queer underground.

IN HIS WORDS:
When I’m at the function I loooove a good slow down moment. Something about going from an intense spurt of high energy stomping to something slower and sexier - it’s as if all the energy amassed in your body suddenly has the space it needed to just get feral with it. So with this mix I go from fast to slow, while trying to stay on theme with my love for raw electronic sounds with an improvisational edge.

Subcultures is from the San Francisco Bay Area and has lived in New York for nearly a decade. He is a collector of antique and underground trance, electro, progressive house and disco records, with roots as an avid shoegaze and indie rock concertgoer. His sets tend to favor the more immersive and emotionally evocative sides of dance music.

IN HIS WORDS: Some of my favorite moments out dancing have been between six and eight in the morning, when DJs often get a little silly, exploratory, and heartfelt, and the dancefloor has become a more intimate and receptive space. For this all-vinyl mix, I tried to capture that sunrise-at-the-rave feeling, where everything seems possible and beautiful, at least until it's time to go home.

In their words:  I’d say it’s heady with a lot of range. Definitely tapped into the spiritual realm with lots of dance and rhythms but also moments to sit and kinda reflect on the world. Every mix I make, song I choose to play or set I I’m booked for is almost always going to give the energy that I’m feeling about the world, culture and politics. Lots of fight and lots of love cuz love is what we’re fighting for. 

Bio for me, ummm… I’m Afro Caribbean born in NYC w/roots in London and Miami. I come from a musical background and have been in and around sound boy culture since youth w/ roots in dancehall, jungle and pretty much all sounds of the Afro Caribbean Latin
diaspora. I started djing vinyl while working in nightlife, producing shortly after and haven’t looked back.

Specializing in synthesis, drum programming, and live performance, her music is a compelling expression of trans identity and human connection.

“I tested out most of these blends at a birthday party where a dear friend came behind the booth and said to me, “it’s giving tranny techno.” As a free-form dj, I realized about a year ago that I hadn’t sat down and figured out how to mix purely techno for more than 20 minutes before diverting, despite most of my nights out being queer techno parties. So when Lee @puppyonline asked me to contribute to Glue, I knew i had to pay homage to those parties with a Peak Time techno mix, evoking my favorite mornings in a Brooklyn warehouse dancing with dolls and doing bumps with bears. My sound selection drew inspiration from the highly processed noise of psytrance and bass but with my usual synth brightness woven through. Featuring unreleased janelovesu! tracks, this one is for those who carry until close 🌅
