I originally made this instrumental for a mashup track that I was pretty proud of, but felt like the instrumental deserved a proper opportunity to shine outside of the #mashup tag and community.

Enter Alexandra Undone - a very talented and emotive vocalist I found through the SoundCloud algorithm who seemed to be drawing from similar influences.  She knew just how to tame the quick-moving and intense instrumental, absolutely crushing this with her lyrics and ideas for vocal layering.

Rareform and I have been swapping feedback on works-in-progress for a while now and I've always loved the tone he finagles out of his guitar (seriously - he's worth a follow if you aren't already).  When he suggested working on something together I jumped at the chance, sending him a bunch of infant ideas I had sitting around.

He quickly zeroed in on a sample interpretation I had that that utilized a stuttering effect, writing guitar parts inspired by that initial sketch which I would then turn into the tones, drones, textures, and melodic elements of this track.  After more than a couple of weeks of slow incremental progress this ended up coming together incredibly quickly in just the last two days, jumping from what felt like 25% completed to 99% done in a matter of hours.
