I don't release music often (it's been nearly 2 years since my Warbler EP!) so I'm feeling quite a bit of excitement and relief right now. 
This EP came together deep in the isolation of 2020. I had been working on some tunes off on my own and I sent dear Julien a whatsapp message with a playlist of what I'd been cooking. He felt inspired by the parts, and within a few weeks, we found ourselves with 3 originals perfect for his new Satya imprint. 

Also happy to have landed a remix from SEPP to round out this package. Absolute stormer of a groover which I think will move some dance floors.

It's been a a real pleasure to collaborate with YokoO, and both as a friend and fellow artist, I'm glad we've been able to cross paths in this way. Hope you enjoy the music.

German House royalty M.A.N.D.Y. joins Maga for new single ‘Time Is On My Side’ with a huge remix from our Queen Bee, Anja Schneider, and the vocals from Inga Humpe. 

M.A.N.D.Y. needs little introduction. Founder of Get Physical, producer, DJ and events organiser Patrick Bodmer is what every ‘90s DJ wanted to be when they grew up! From his albums for UK Clubbing behemoth Fabric to his festival show-stopping ‘Body Language’ and beyond, M.A.N.D.Y. is a legend and pioneer of the German scene. French producer MAGA is known for his melodic, organic and minimalistic sounds. Releasing on a range of labels including Scenarios and Flying Circus, his near decade at the top of his game has been an interesting ride. 

Berlin native and front woman for 2raumwohnung, Inga Humpe has been active in the industry for over four decades. Considered “an amazing talent with the best voice” by Anja Schneider no less, Inga’s sizable and sonically diverse catalogue covers everything from Punk (with Neonbabies), to ‘Codo’ (produced by her sister Anette as ‘80s pop act, DÖF) to solo chart success ‘Riding into the Blue (Cowboy Song)’ produced by Grammy award winner Trevor Horn (The Buggles/Art of Noise) and, more recently, a co-writing credit for ‘Automatic Love’ for Kylie Minogue in 2000. As potent a force in the industry as ever, she is currently gearing up for an already sold out European tour with 2raumwohnung celebrating their 21st anniversary. 

Opening in ambience, delayed percussions and warm pads invite you in. Taking its time to develop, melodics and vocal ad libs sweep in and out before the main vocals kick things up a notch. Deep, soulful and utterly beguiling. On remix duties, Anja toughens the groove for the early morning sweatathon. Adding even more melodic elements to the main motifs breathes new life into an already genre-defining work of art. Miss this at your peril!

https://soundcloud.com/schleppgeist has been invigorating Leipzig's scene and sound for quite a while now and with certainty will do even more so with this upcoming, vigorous EP on Distillery Records. He shaped up the opening and lead track "Dust" with so much potential, that he just had to carve out two versions, serving slightly different fields of application. The "Outdoor Mix" incorporates all the essentials of an utmost classy peaktime affair that will apply to the affective dynamics of crowds in larger numbers. Single lasting notes ensnaring micro-percussive patterns, haunted vocals creating somewhat of an emotive song-quality within the track-like arrangement, a break evidently bursting with tension and energy, in short: the maximum in effect, without compromising in style and attitude. The "Indoor Mix" on the other hand highlights rather tribal-esque rhythms and a more subtle and deep quality to the groove, tweaking it for ultimate club-duties.

Following up is "Shiver", a tune that delves into deeper realms, introducing a filtered-in piano-motif that progresses into pure Acid bliss. Toolhouse splendour that surely will send shivers of joy down many spines.  

"Last" opens up yet another sound aesthetic, bringing heavy breaks and a bassline into play that at some point in Techno history would have been considered "Knartz". Comparative minds might even sense some tribute to "Flatbeat" within this mix. At least up until the point, elevating pads add a more romantic notion to the tune.

https://soundcloud.com/chris-manura then finally lays his hands and mind on that very "Last", translating it into a 4/4 scheme, referring to the original's bassline here and there, but in general teasing out a completely different temper that's built on sparkling synths, a straight groove, deep mentality and epic arrangement.
