Born in the south Ky and B are one of the hottest duos and they go by the name, Gurl Meets Gurl aka GMG. Ky born in Louisiana and B in Georgia, these ladies both have a long history in music growing up. Ky started at a young age in choir, playing the piano and the drums. B started her musical career writing poetry and dancing. She took her poetry on a record with friend, Terrance Griswould, who helped influence turning her poetry into rapping. 

In 2009, the ladies met and joined musical forces. Ky was already recording music and B started linking in the studio. B had never really recorded seriously until she met Ky. While Ky was working on a song called, “Let Me Take You,” a verse written by B and the duo clicked as a team. It became hits in the making ever since. 

As the ladies started to grow in music together they released many hit singles over the years including: “The One,” “Gotta Have It,” “We Do Dis,” and “On It” just to name a few. Their first single in 2009 was called, “We Luv Gurls” featuring Pimpzilla and it hit radio airwaves in Augusta, Georgia. In 2011, GMG performed the first Pride Weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.

Family is very influential to these ladies career and a big part in where they are today musically and where they are headed. Ky’s brother passed in a car wreck in 2012 and he was her biggest supporter. He told her to never give up on her dream while, B’s Mom is supportive and taught her to become the woman she is today and gave her strength to keep pushing. B says, “Music is my soul, I will not go a day without it.” GMG is destined for greatness.

The GMG ladies describe their sound as similar to a female version of Bone Thugs & Harmony. Their melodies are tight along with different points of view from Ky and B. Their music is relatable to anyone who listens and talks about everyday life and experiences. GMG is multitalented when it comes to singing, rapping and writing music. Ky is musically influenced by Future, Timerland and Jay-Z, while B looks up to 8Ball & MJG, 2 Pac and Project Pat. 

Drive and passion is the force behind the GMG movement. Ky says, “A lot of people are rapping just to rap, we are actually passionate about music.” With new single, Callin Me, hitting the streets in Fall 2016 the ladies of GMG are ready to hit the ground running. You won't want to sleep on Ky and B of Gurl Meets Gurl aka GMG. They are bringing Southern Georgia style across the map.
