Last summer they invited Moteka to play with them. Live they now either play as Möd3rn (3 people) or Möd4rn (4 people).

Bio :
Kasia Gościńska, is born in Warsaw (Poland) and started mixing in 2016, when she was organizing events in Spain.

In her sets, she likes revolving around industrial analog sounds and acid techno, adding some break and EBM flavors to them. So far, she's played in clubs throughout Poland (Poznan’s Schron, Breslau’s Das Lokal and Cialo, as well as in clubs in Tricity and Warsaw, where she supported acclaimed Polish DJs (ISNT, VTSS, TAKA, Piotr Bejnar)and in Berlin (Beate Uwe, Burg Schnabel).

This project aims to melt the experience and the world of the two artists in one single place. Both known for their very unique style started to work naturally on music, figuring out lately that the entire project was right there, in front of their eyes, Power Culture is the result of the collision of many styles that dominated the 90's but look forward to the future, with a wider angle. DJ Nobu & Katsunori Sawa are Nobusawa.

A true auteur of hyper functional dance floor Techno production trades blows with one of the genre’s most lauded DJ’s.

By virtue of its component parts - each individual is a veteran of their respective schools, Nobusawa represents something of a dream team within the field of contemporary dance music. Nobu - a DJ in a rich vein of form, whose unique and beloved performances continue to build upon decades of experience as a selector; and Katsunori Sawa - whose keen ear for sonic balance & inventive engineering processes have long since marked him out as both a top tier solo artist & collaborator - the latter previously represented in his work as one half of the Steven Porter project.

The pairing also makes a strong statement regarding the burgeoning Japanese Techno scene - Sawa hails from Kyoto on Japan’s west side, and Nobu from Chiba - the east side of the country. Both artist’s represent different articulations of the genre, but come together as a powerful production unit to deliver a stunning, cohesive record in line with the Token label’s more dissonant, razor edged output.

Featuring two collaborative recordings, and a pair of solo works from each artist - TOKEN91 eschews low slung, wide angle ambience in favour of a more stripped back, direct approach. Nobu’s offering Peppercorns operates in the high frequencies, a tentatively more droning, dream-like composition in the context of Sawa’s galloping Call Scope - which marries quick fire kicks with a heady, psychedelic lead sequence. Decorative 17, EP closer & the second of the two collaborations is an unabashed main room workout, while Raspberry looks to warehouse spaces for inspiration - polyrhythmic drum machine programming buoys a warping lead synth line that binds the piece, whilst remaining untethered and wholly adventurous.

It’s a powerful debut for both artists that speaks volumes on the richness of properly articulated & well executed collaboration. Both Nobu & Sawa’s fingerprints are all over the work, and each individual brings an undeniably different angle to the EP -  but as a whole, it is the duo’s obvious, mutually respectful rapport that shines though, lifting the music far and above the sum of its parts.

Nobusawa - Raspberry

This month on PoleGroup radio we are going to listen to a mix from Tensal, the mix has been recorded live at Jimmy Jazz in Vitoria Spain for the anniversary of the Rebels Collective night.

Tensal has released an EP lately on the Dutch label "Mord" called "The Unequal Struggle", a remix on the French label Skryptom for Wldwrz and an EP called "Real Ammunition" will see the light on Oscar Mulero´s Warm UP after summer. Besides that he is also working on an EP for the project CRVEL with his friend P.E.A.R.L. 

Last but not least Tensal is preparing a live with the brand A&D Audiotechnik with a 4D surrounding sound, the live will be premiered in October this year in a "to be announced" festival So keep you eyes and ears open as that will definitely be a blast.

Since its launch in 2015, Parabel has established itself as one of the main Swedish techno imprints with very well received EPs by local artists Joel Mull, Patrick Siech, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Petter B or Patrik Skoog.

Parabel steps up with Joel Mull’s fourth LP ‘Arrow Of Time’, his first album in eight years and the first LP to be released on the label.

If you’ve listened to techno in the past twenty years, Joel Mull won’t need any introduction, with three previous LPs released on prestigious labels Inside, Harthouse and Truesoul, and regular EPs appearing on Drumcode, Cocoon, Mary Go Wild or Kanzlermant to name a few.

This new album is influenced by traveling, time and the future’s point of direction. It is melancholic, cinematic, with the soul of techno at its heart. Here is the concept hiding behind it in the artist’s own words:

”We all have moments when we think about time, I do, especially when I travel. There is a certain loose feeling when I write music and sketch on ideas while I’m in a moving object that is blasting throughout space, such as a plane or a train.

These moments are more intense for me than, for example, when I’m working on ideas in the studio. The studio is amazing but it can also be too structured. When I look out of a window and have a moving canvas in front, it directly adds emotion and easily inspires me.

‘Arrow Of Time’ is the inspiration to this album’s title. It is both the time capsule that we all travel in and the journey that you do every time you listen to music.

Most of the ideas behind the tracks have then been recorded in my home studio adding a few instruments to the mix such as the Roland sh101, Lyra 8 the Roland tr8 and through the Elektron Analog Heat to get it to glow a bit more.Then processing it on my laptop with plugins from UAD, Softube, Soundtoys and with my favorite software Ableton.

The album could not sound complete and get released to the outside world without the help of my favorite mastering engineer Walter Coelho.”
