Boston burner trio Fat Creeps, fronted by the photogenic duo of Mariam Saleh and Gracie Jackson, plays grungy, slacker rock with girl-group harmonies and songs about dudes, dad weed, and parties. Both the same age and both born in Massachusetts, Saleh and Jackson's personality and attitude propel the already driving music, lending the band a clear character and feel. Expect a full length cassette on Gnar Tapes in early Spring!

Tempe, AZ's Petty Things are a band we are excited about. "Bored" is one of our favorite songs of the year. We decided to do a tape with them based on that song alone and when the final product showed up we couldn't have been happier. It's so catchy and so snappy and right on. Sure to be a Gnar favorite for years to come and one of the best debuts by any band we've had the pleasure of putting to tape. Burn out in the sun to this blisteringly hot rock and roll from the desert! 

- What we said about them last time:

"There is a highway that starts at the Pacific Ocean and stretches all the way across the southern USA. If you cruise that highway it only takes a day's drive from LA to reach the desert vibe oasis of Tempe, AZ. Nestled next to the bottom corner of Phoenix, the city in the desert; you couldn't walk out of it in the day and the spirits come creeping around at night. The AC units hum and the succulents reach out to the sun, and the Petty Things are writing perfect pop songs in a hidden house somewhere there in the desert city of Tempe, AZ."

The incredibly talented and awe inspiring Fungi Girls have been melting minds for years now with their absurdly proficient delivery of ultimate top-grade psychedelic rock. Hailing from the deserts near Fort Worth, Texas, Fungi Girls made a name for themselves in the garage/psych/surf/lo-fi scene with releases on famed specialty label HoZac as well as early accolades from the likes of Psychedelic Horseshit and other like-minded freaks of that era. Unlike a lot of the early lo-fi ("shitgaze" remember that?) bands that blossomed and burned away like beer cans in a fire pit, with only their damaged, beautiful artifacts left for us to ponder over, Fungi Girls championed on and developed their sound even further; heavy garage psychedelia with tracers of OG surf, kraut, and shoegaze; The 13th Floor Elevators, The Stooges, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Sonics, and Steppenwolf trippin' deeply in the desert at night. Essential.

Geelong delinquents the Living Eyes have just churned out a second LP of burners to hit the shelves early 2015, following their self-titled debut from 2013.  
Since then the band have thrown around a handful of singles, shows and a split 7”, but its common ground that all arrows are pointed towards this new long player. As of January 30, the Living Eyes will unhinge a new belt of stompers to make up LP round two. 
The album was predominantly recorded by Straight Arrows’ front man Owen Penglis over a day and a half spent in Sydney at Penglis’ new hideout; Goliath Professional Recording Studio. The tapes were then driven back down the Hume highway and finished off in a couple of West Geelong bedrooms, before being mailed to Rye mixing master, Mikey Young. 
Living Large takes off in a somewhat new direction since the S/T LP, filling out with more sharp cuts and guitar crunch but still keeping the snotty sound they’d always had. In a few words – it’s a poppy punk record that sounds nothing like pop punk. 
But it’s nothing to dwell on - its ten tracks wide and 26 minutes minutes long and it’ll spin faster than your average long player any day of the week.
