I wrote this song about the movie Thirteen. The relevance of the movie Thirteen is that it offers a peek into the life of a seventh-grade girl who appears to be "ordinary," but who is actually suffering with a sense of belonging and a way to express her pain. In some ways, I can relate to her, which really made this song come to my mind easily.
