Two Spliffs In The Ashtray Podcast EP #2 - New Year's Eve Special 2024

Join me in this third instalment of my podcast, where I talk about going to my first rave when I was four, when I went to a rave called Sunrise Back To The Future on 12th August 1989. The rave scene at that time was illegal raves, which were soon clamped down on in 1992 when there new laws were put in place to deal with the various "problems." It was quite a big event and drew thousands of people to a field to party all night. The raves at the time were due to the second Summer Of Love, which happened in 1988 in the UK and lasted until 1992, but never died and have had a few resurgences of the rave scene. With music from  Steve Silk Hurly, Doug Lazy, Deva, Black Box and Joe Smooth.

I talk about my mental health and about having a mental illness which I had from an early age and didn't get treated until I was in my 30s when I got sectioned and was the start of my life again, to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop I talk about female Hip Hop and who's my favourite female Hip Hop artist is and why I love and favour female Hip Hop and I also talk about when I met Aaliyah when she came to my school in 1997 in a promo tour with music and she performed two well-known songs.
