When I first heard it, its atmosphere deeply hooked me and reminded shots from the third season of the TV series Twin Peaks where at the end of some episodes secondary characters are sitting in a bar while a local band is playing their music on background. And we get that life goes on, crowd is drinking beer and chatting, but we know that simultaneously something goes wrong". ~ a listener.

Cacao Beach is a surreal synth sound that is a trippy and wonky mix of intoxicating electronica, techno, and newbeat music. One of the standout tracks on this release is ""Cacao Beach"". It's a driving and tantalizing bass tune with a melody stuck in your head that won't leave you indifferent. The remix by our resident Moonoton adds even more drive and makes it a club new beat hit.

If you want to go on a high-energy night journey, the track ""Flight In The Night"" is perfect for that. The remix by Yakovets makes this track even more hypnotic as if you were in Gaspar Noé's films.

And the closing track ""Silver Pan"" is a real techno-thriller that will keep you in your seat. The bass line of this track just grabs you and doesn't let you go until the end."

The second episode of the new Moscow-based imprint Spazio is coming hot! After the super 12-track debut VA published in March this year, the Russian label – creative team, and party series – brings to light its very first EP. Doing the honours, Pavel Fedoseev aka KIKOK and his "Cacao Beach" featuring three Summer-infused originals and two spot-on remixes made with love by Moonoton and Yakovets.

Hailing from Perm, a Russian city close to the Ural Mountains and home to rare snow leopards and Amur tigers, KIKOK has solid works published on Magnetron Music, Electric Shapes, and Spazio itself. The mastermind behind the remix we selected to premiere, Andrey Moonoton, in turn, is an ex-member of St. Petersburg duo Andrei & Eleanora. Now stationed in Moscow, his eclectic 80s/90s-soaked sonority has been published on Permanent Vacation, Tigers On A Leash, IDA, and... drum roll, please... Spazio!

For his take on the title track, Moonoton started to administer his magic touch by tweaking the BPM (from 126 to 130) and then adding heavy doses of percussive elements. The biting arpeggios plus the 90s-ish frenzied aura he introduced brought even more drive to his version and the result is definitely one of the highlights of the release.

A new project/ collaboration between a trio of Melbourne post-punk heavyweights: Harry Howard (Crime and the City Solution, These Immortal Souls, Pink Stainless Tail, Harry Howard and the NDE), Edwina Preston (The Moll Flanders Band, Harry Howard & The NDE) and Ben Hepworth (REPAIRS, Eastlink).
