Going online only a short time at night via 56k modems, sending chiptunes on IRC was an ideal way to collaborate, because of small files and elite speed tracking skillz.. After over 20 years of countless demoscene wins, smash hit records and epic live shows, we are proud to present the nostalgic chiptune banger ”track tracking”, available on all streaming platforms!

One cold winter day while riding tram #6 in Gothenburg city, zabutom had a sudden flash of inspiration and had to pull up the old laptop with Fast Tracker 2 from his backpack to quickly track an idea down, and that’s how “track tracking” began..

Track Tracking (feat. Dubmood)

In honor of the late great Mika Vanio, I present this recording I made of the show they played at Coney Island High on St Marks Place on October 30th 1998. It was incredibly intense, late in the set Alan vega jumps on stage and freaks on the mic like only he could. He was so amped he tripped over a cord and unplugged all of the gear in one fell swoop!! ( that's what the drop in music is)

Recorded on the legendary Sony MZ-R30 Mini-Disc Recorder using a sweet Sony condenser mic ( can't remember the model). It all sounds great and the MD and mic handle the heavy parts beautifully!

Transferred to CD using a direct to disc Harmon Kardon CDR 2 recorder into a Carver CT Seven Pre Amp using Sonic Holography circuit to beef up the soundstage

Gnu aka Gnusten aka Austerity & the Heart aka Dubutopia aka or Mikael A Gustafsson, is different solo projects with guests in studio and live performances. I also play guitar in LM308 (industrial/punk) and MYR (together with Mick Saurell) and sometimes make music to film. You find earlier recordings of me if you search for "Videoiid", ”Sect-Or Three”, ”Sirene”, ”Extended Heads”, "Anarkids" and more. I do excursions to the borders and dig into the ground to find the roots that made rock music horrific and terrifying when it historically first saw it’s daylights and why it appeared interesting and appealing to me in it’s first place. The dark and the beauty, the pain and the pleasure, the sexy and the violent, the noise and the beat. A music like life without makeup’s. I produce and mix these demos by myself.
