J M S KHOSAH is a producer and DJ based in Tokyo, originally from the UK. After moving to Japan over ten years ago, he became a steady presence in the city’s underground music scene, earning respect for doing things on his own terms. His releases on Steven Julien’s Apron Records and his own label, NCA — which he runs with longtime collaborator Brassfoot — reflect a deep love for raw, genre-blurring sounds. Known for unpredictable sets and a no-frills approach, J M S KHOSAH brings an energy that’s hard to fake. His work carries a sense of authenticity, shaped by lived experience and a constant push to stay true to his vision.

French multi-instrumentalist and producer Gary Gritness made a name for himself with his first two EPs on Clone and an earlier appearance on parisian house institution "My Love Is Underground". He changes up with his third output, this time out on major English stable "Hypercolour", purveyor of good techno and underground house from all over the world since 2006. Entitled "The Sugar Cane Chronicles Vol. 1", this EP amazes on all levels with some of the best electro-funk one can hear these days : the production is crystalline and efficient, the melodies are far out, and the funk is ever-present in each and every composition. It's good and creative from start to finish, period. If further proof were needed, lend an ear to the darkest number of the EP "Stayin' Strong Hand" premiered here, you won't be disappointed. Out on April 1st, don't sleep on this one !
