Spiel der Schatten 

Hochkonzentriert starre ich auf das Spielfeld vor mir. Schweißperlen laufen wie Sturzbäche über meine in Falten gelegte Stirn. Die Entscheidung über mein Leben, über mein Schicksal, liegt nur einen Handgriff entfernt. Alles hängt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes von der nächsten Karte ab. Alle Duellanten vor mir haben versagt. Sie alle wurden unter größten Qualen in das Reich der Schatten verbannt. Deshalb liegt nun auch ihr Schicksal in meinen, verschwitzten und leicht zittrigen Händen. Ich amte tief durch, fokussiere meinen Geist und schaue meinem Kontrahenten in die schwarz glänzenden Augen. Zurück starrt die pure Finsternis. Ohne eine Miene zu verziehen fordert er mich auf, meinen Zug zu machen. Ich fasse mir ein Herz, greife zu meinem Deck und nach der nächsten Karte. Ich halte die Luft an und betrachte meine Ausbeute. Dann breitet sich ein dickes Grinsen auf meinem ganzen Gesicht aus. Ohne ein Wort zu sagen, spiele ich meinen Trumpf aus …
Nun ist endlich vorüber. All die Strapazen, dass bittern und bangen haben sich ausgezahlt. Im allerletzten Moment konnte ich das Ruder noch einmal herumreißen und das Spiel für mich entscheiden. Dem Herz der Karten sei dank!
