Derek Makes Traxx - Rise

A jungle track crafted using some irish elements that feature throughout the track. From euphoric pads to convey atmosphere and depth to the main melody hook made from an irish harp plugin that haunts the track atmosphere further.
Sampled cuts exist in the track too, from the bodhran, a irish single drum instrument, sampled flute from the lonesome boatman, an old exceptional traditional irish song.
And sampled vocals from Sinead O'Connor.

The track plays over several jungle loops, from its opening, main and the middle of the track, it features different styles to give variety to the track that comes off well and unexpected.

I hope you enjoy it as I enjoyed producing it.

This was not a company but a great beast, an overarching monster which had grown far too big for its own boots. For whom and what are we talking about here? The jungle was wild, the talons of the trees and the wild creatures which owned this realm were dangerous and out of control as the dense greenery grew and grew further and further beyond control. Soon this great jungle would own and govern everything at least so it seemed. 

Earth Boys are set to release a new album via Shall Not Fade. "Earth Tones" is forthcoming and features a deep, sun kissed assortment of tracks built for late summer nights and sun kissed beaches. It's feel good house and breaks galore.

PREMIERE: Earth Boys - Amazon Prime(Jungle)[Shall Not Fade]

Lisbonian, Silvestre returns to his sonic home-from-home Meda Fury for another fantastic five tracker; three originals from the man himself and two huge remixes from one of the most respected labels in Lisbon - Príncipe.

We premiere the first on the front; 'Todos Bem', which literally translates as 'All Good' in Portuguese. Whether the title doubles up as an incredibly modest description of the track or perhaps Silvestre's humble nod of approval towards his own work, it needs to be said that our assessment of this cut and the album as a whole is perhaps a little more enthusiastic. Tudos Bem, starts as an organ-led scratch-fest, with a tight auto-tune vocal from Silvestre himself, before mutating into an anthemic/hedonistic 303 acid and whistle banger. This euphoric string-laden track provides a morish listen, equally suitable for home or a dusty distant dancefloor.

PREMIERE: Silvestre - Todos Bem [Meda Fury]

Leeds-based producer Dubrunner (@dubrunneruk) brings his debut release to Scuffed Recordings, with three new tracks firmly rooted in his soundsystem influences.

As a co-founder of Leeds’ notorious Stretchy Dance Supply parties and a staff member at Tribe Records, Dubrunner’s eclectic DJ sets reflect back into his productions, with house, breaks and electronic influences sitting alongside sounds from steppa dub and soundsystem culture.

The ‘Scorpio Season’ EP shows the spectrum of Dubrunner’s influences in full flow, with tracks ranging from the 140bpm stepper ‘Destination Unknown’, to the weighty breaks of the title track, to the wonky electronics and dubby chords of ‘Syntax Error’.

Meda Fury are so gassed to welcome back Silvestre with a virtual hug and a 5 track EP of new jams and remix fire!

The Lisbon boy done good has been enjoying some well earned praise for his last few releases - his '...is boss EP' on Secretsundaze, 'Girar' on Diskotopia, and 'Yeah' via yours truly. Gigs in Amsterdam, Bristol, Porto, London and Lisbon followed - including his debut on Boiler Room. 

'Todos Bem' starts as an organ led scratch-fest, with a tight auto-tune vocal from Silvestre himself, before mutating into an anthemic/hedonistic 303 acid and whistle banger! This euphoric string-laden track equally at home in Ibiza or Notting  Hill Carnival! 'Paga O Que Deves' is up next; Joao's love of grime and UK bass culture is evident from the drop, twisted synths and breaks recall everyone from Eastman to Digital Mystikz.
On the flip we find serious remix pressure from Silvestre's friends and contemporaries - the Lisbon crew of Príncipe! DJ Firmeza is up first, pushing the tempo way up on 'Yeah', turning it into a banging kuduro rave monster, propulsive batida drums upping the temperature. DJ Lilocox follows with an intense remix of 'Demónios Na Cabeça', converting it into a percussive trancey big-room track. Layers of mixed afro/gqom drums follow a strict samba-like rhythm forcing hands and possibly the ceiling higher.

Anonymous producer Kilig (@kiligsounds) debuts on Scuffed Recordings with the ‘Dream Logic’ EP, fusing together elements of UK-influenced techno, minimal, ambient and industrial.

The ‘Dream Logic’ EP is the latest in a string of releases from London’s Kilig, who has turned heads of late with DJ support from the likes of Ben UFO, Call Super, Saoirse, and Midland, and radio plays on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and the Introducing Hot List.

From the intricate sound design and melodic flourishes of the title track, to the percussive depth charge of ‘Ape’, to the imaginative vocal cuts and minimal throb of closer ‘I’m Trying’, the release is a journey through Kilig’s eclectic production style, honed as a resident of London’s Night Tales and Bristol’s HOMEBREW parties.
