Having already appeared on Flying Circus Recordings with a killer collaboration with Maga back in 2019, DJ & producer Nhii goes on a solo venture with his new single ‘Closer’ featuring Shrii.  Remixes are provided by Yulia Niko and Rony Seikaly, and the package is sealed off with another sweet production from the Brookyln based German artist.

In its original mix, ‘Closer’ is a pulsing and peppy slice of mystical and engrossing dance music, lightly dipped in reverb, and featuring a infectious vocal performance from Shrii, all delivered with the sophistication and elegance one would expect for a Flying Circus release.

Mannheim based Yulia Niko supplies the first of the remixes of ‘Closer’.  The rising DJ/producer has hugely impressed via releases on esteemed labels like Watergate, 8Bit, Rebellion and Get Physical, and on her remix deploys a effervescent acid line and dubby chords whilst chopping up and twisting Shrii’s vocal for a pure transcendental workout. 

Lebanese/US producer Rony Seikaly turns in the second remix on this bustling EP.  Fueled by an early love of US house music, Seikaly has gone on to forge a sound and style that has graced labels like Moon Harbour, Voltaire Music as well as his own Stride imprint.  His deep and seductive remix really works a treat here.

Closing the EP, Nhii pops in a second original production with ‘White Box’.  Melodic synths bounce off a mechanical yet funky rhythm, soft kicks and deft percussion propel this hypnotizing and graceful track, and if a fitting finale to a stand out release on Audiofly’s established label.

Paris' Ankhoï sustains the blissful vibes, debuting on the label with an uplifting dance litany, 'Hallelujah' before letting Martin HERRS take listeners on a wistful caravan to 'Ramot de Galaad' via clubland. Up next, Savito's seductive rhythmic poetry wafts gracefully through Alegria's ebullient 'Current,' followed by Alessa Khin's effervescent tantric groover, 'Santa Muneca.' MBR 509 pulses forward as Berkan and Orkun Bozdemir re-awaken the aura of the 'Lost Acropolis,' then immerses into the viscous progressions and undulations of Ways of Thinking's 'Antes Esperando.' Propelled by lush ethnic instrumentals, cerebral electronic cadences permeate deeper in Secret Factory's 'Hey Jimmy,' continuing on to ethereal depths through James Deron's devotional rhapsody, 'Ewewo.' Lastly, we leave it up to F/Theme to wrap up this sonic escapade with nothing more timeless than a mesmerizing rendition of Christina Luna's cover of Daft Punk's iconic 'Get Lucky.'

Homecomings are always a special thing, and with music it is just the same. After the successful launch of his own imprint Deep State earlier in the year - Grum is celebrating with some epic remixes of the music that started it all - his Heartbeats LP from back in 2010.

Providing the new heat for this 10 year special are Tinlicker and Paul Thomas. Both artists fit in perfectly with the Deep State family.

Remixing such well known music, and taking in a different direction is always a tricky thing. Tinlicker's high energy reworking of Through The Night is progressive genius, twisting the Nu Disco hammer into a finely tuned roller.

Paul Thomas's remix is just as clever,  his remix of Runaway (one of the electro monsters on the original album) is devastatingly big. Heavy electronics and a supercharged bassline working in tandem.

Alongside Deep States unique new remixes we are also including music from the original LP in the package. Out this August on Deep State.
