wo Brazilian artists, Tabbi (from São Paulo) and Leca (from Florianópolis), met in New York, thousands of miles from home, yet instantly recognized something familiar — the pulse of Brazilian soul beating in their hearts. Coming from opposite ends of the country, each carried her own accent, memories, and unique cultural repertoire.

What began as a simple musical exchange soon became something greater: the start of a true friendship and an artistic partnership that now binds us forever.

During the creation of Tom da Raiz, we realized we were composing more than just a song. We were weaving our stories together, translating into sounds and words what it means to be a woman, an artist, and a Brazilian living far from Brazil. This track is an intimate manifesto about belonging, the courage to follow one’s own path, and the resilience needed to keep the essence alive despite distance and challenges.

The vocal-poem, written in Portuguese, speaks of resistance, strength, and courage — an open letter to all women who, like us, hold on to their dreams and identities, even when the world seems to demand they bend:

The name Tom da Raiz is a tribute to what shapes and sustains us. It represents our origins, our stories, and the pride of being who we are. It’s the echo of our roots resonating, even oceans away, reminding us that everything essential remains.

German house masters Tube & Berger and Juliet Sikora have announced that they will be releasing the third volume in the 'It Began In Africa' compilation series on Kittball Records. For this, the label have teamed up with "The African Children's Choir", licensed their music and organised a selection of producers to remix them whilst contributing their royalties to the choir. The money will provide shelter, education and a new home for African children in need.

The first two compilations generated over 15,000 Euros which were used to support the choir and its social projects. The funds enabled the building of nurseries and schools to help children get away from life in the streets and this new edition includes tracks from Dario D'Attis, Flashmob, Josh Butler, Mat.Joe, Magdalena, Riva Starr, Walker & Royce and many more.

This is a deep and afro-tinged selection of house tracks that take us back to the roots of rhythm, embalming the earthy grooves with all manner of melodies, tribal percussive patterns, cosmic signifiers and more in between.

For Kittball’s 200th release label co-owner Juliet Sikora drops two lively house tracks, including a collaboration with Ashibah, in her ‘Pain In My Brain EP’.
Launched by Tube & Berger in 2006, Kittball has continually proven itself as a force to be reckoned with, releasing music by renowned artists like Wally Lopez, Jay Lumen, Roy Rosenfeld, Joeski, Cristoph, Purple Disco Machine, and many more. Juliet Sikora has been at the helm of the label for many years and her own music has been some of Kittball’s finest. She now teams up with Danish/Egyptian singer and producer Ashibah, who’s made recent appearances on DFTD, Delicious Recordings, Sony Music Entertainment, Get Physical, and various other leading labels.
