Some of the biggest moments of Kompakt over a three decade history are here; the chorus of “So Weit Wie Noch Nie” remains timeless – there to send shivers of pleasure down your spine as we feel at the end of exhaustive end of a night. “Take That” is an anthem for the still to be built rock stadiums of tomorrow. Back in Paris after six intense years in West Africa, the little genius of afrotech-house returns with 10 intense tracks and the best musicians to join him in african studio session (Mali, Burkina and Côte D'ivoire): Lansiné Kouyaté, Innocent Kimpe and the fabulous singer jahelle on his new album "Balani Factory", released on April 12 on Blanc Manioc (distributed by Baco - Idol).
Reflections of his travels, reflections of his imaginations, and tutelary figures, our favorite bagpacker takes a little more the road of the African western with his synthesizers as his only compass. The common thread that quickly becomes apparent is an instrument that has spanned the centuries: the balafon, and the story of the mysterious singer with the tragic destiny of "Zélé de Papara"!
Together with singer Jahelle, they pay her an emotionnal tribute on the eponymous track.
After listening to this single, released at the beginning of the year, the famous DJ and producer PALMS TRAX joined Praktika and took over the tracks for a remix, an 8-minute epic in the pure house tradition, with transcendental harmonic progression and evolving rhythm.

Channel Tres grew up in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles. His voice is effortlessly deep, as if Barry White didn't realize he was Barry White. "Controller", Channel's debut single on Godmode (Yaeji, Shamir), took classic Detroit house and reimagined it with the surly attitude of West Coast rap. Pitchfork, NPR, Gorilla vs. Bear, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple, and KCRW were early champions, along with Australia's esteemed Triple J radio, who put "Controller" in full rotation.

In advance of his self-titled debut EP (out July 27 on Godmode), Channel blesses us with "Jet Black", another taste of his unorthodox union of four-on-the-floor and Compton. The song is an oozy ode to the blackest of black, over a ferocious modular synth instrumental that takes cues from industrial and early electro. "I never reply when you hit me/ I'm off the grid you can't get me" – it's hard not to feel invincible when this one plays. The video, directed by cult filmmaker Anthony Sylvester, captures Compton at its most contorted, where barbershops double as churches, where liquor stores become after-hours raves.
