Tardigrade Song

When I worked at Paisley Park, I had this crazy idea that I would drag three of my coworkers home and record them being cool and funky and sexy.  I locked them in my walk-in closet with a microphone, and just let them go.  The recording is hilarious, and I was able to lift a bit of what they said and place it in this song.  Also, another coworker loaned me his really fantastic wah pedal for the guitar.  

I haven't been in contact with them for many years, and can't remember everyone's surnames!  The women were Debbie McGuan, Rhonda, and Juliette, who was from England.

Dorchadas - Darkness.

Dedicated to Bob Grieb, who repaired my PPG Wave boards, this is just a single patch I threw together in a minute here. I think it perfectly showcases that typical mournful vocal sounds that they are so famous for,

A quick and dirty improvised set with one overdub. The first track recorded is the sequence line. This is just the Oakley ASV being played by a simple sequence and manually tweaked to provide variation. A basic delay and reverb are added. The overdub is the ASV being manually played from a keyboard with aftertouch controlling filter cut-off and modulation amount (using an Oakley VCO Controller module). Heavy use of delay and reverb add to the mood. The strings in the background are provided by a Nord A1.
