wow this was set up so nicely over the course of the first hour

Today we welcome a name that has become synonymous with Toronto’s dance music community: Borzoo. With over 16 years of experience behind the decks, Borzoo has had his hands in just about every aspect of the industry. Whether it’s playing Toronto’s internationally acclaimed Electric Island concert series, or acting as both owner and resident DJ at the city’s beloved and former Cabal, Borzoo’s contribution to the scene has been paramount. 

It was during his years of study in Dubai when Borzoo began exploring the world of DJing. Working part time for a nightlife magazine, he began to network his way through the tightly-knit circle of industry insiders. Soon, Borzoo found himself holding down the opening slot at many of the major clubs. Fast forward to today, and Borzoo has enjoyed gigs at AIM Montreal, ADE in Amsterdam, and a majority of Toronto’s nightclubs including CODA, Cabal and Nest to name a few. 

His sound is always evolving. Whether it’s downtempo electronica or big, progressive breaks, Borzoo notes “every environment and vibe requires a different sound.” The mix he delivers for us here today comes from his opening set at Aether, an underground club in the heart of Budapest. Listen as Borzoo exhibits a sincere understanding for what an opening slot entails. With calm composure, he delivers 2 hours of gradual progression, pulling back to tease his listeners, while setting the tone for the journey that lies ahead — a task that could only be achieved by a seasoned DJ such as himself.
