Whilst overseeing his own imprint SK_eleven, his releases push a galvanising brand of techno, steeped in a sense of urgency, ever-propulsive with acute detailing and nods to a futuristic space-age. As a selector, the Mancunian’s extended DJ sets pull from an expansive spectrum of material both new and old.

Léa Occhi is a French Techno DJ based in Berlin, co-founder and resident of the Spectrum Waves in Paris: queer collective with freedom, tolerance, respect, passion, love at its core. 

She hosts events at Station Gare des Mines, a rehabilitated industrial wasteland and former railway station, to provide a safer space for minority communities, where freedom of expression is lived in all thinkable forms. Through her collective, she has managed to create a perfect balance between her own desires, ambitions and her fundamental values and commitments. 

Her sets stand out for their sharp selection and absolute coherence. A mental, groovy techno with organic, tribal and some spatial sounds. She knows how to adapt and create an unique atmosphere and cohesion in each of her performances, always revealing her current feelings.

By turn rugged and propulsive, her blends elegantly stretch from post-indus rustiness to straight out computer-age gloss in the blink of an eye, though her mixing seamlessly coalesces all in a brilliantly understated tour de force. With her typical refinement and pristine dexterity behind the decks, Sykes keeps us on our toes throughout this belter of a sonic journey. We’re back with a fresh and special SPANDAU20 mixtape: a live set by the talented DJ and producer @phara-6 📼

Phara spins an intricate, contemporary take on techno while never losing touch with the genre's essence while being heavily influenced by Detroit, Berlin, and the UK sounds, as well as post-punk, wave, EBM, and electro. He emerged on the international scene with the "Next Of Kin" album on Black Sun Records. After EP releases on labels like Soma, SK Eleven, Stockholm LTD, and Planet Rhythm, Phara also founded "Phaaar," his own record label. He's known for his vinyl-only DJ sets, blending fast rhythms, industrial vibes, and dub pulses. 🔊

We are thrilled to release this mix as part of our Mixtape series, since it’s a recording of Phara’s live set for the 29-year-celebration of one of Spandau20's favorite clubs, @fusebrussels . 🖤

"It's a 1:20 h extract of a two-hour set. Recorded using two Korg Electribe EMX-1's, an Oto Boum and a Allen Heath Xone96 Mixer. It was the closing set of the first day of a sold out birthday weekend, right underneath the Brussels South train station. It was the first time I played with two Electribes – definitely a gig I will never forget. Unfortunately, the power in the club went down after a while, which cut the recording in half." 🔥
