Dear friends,

last weekend I had the pleasure to play a spontaneous set with my dear friend Pim aka SQL at the Evolution Festival. We have never played together before, but we share the great passion of dubby & hypnotic techno. 

We played just under 2 hours back 2 back and then i followed up with my Switchbox set, which I will also share here very soon. Stay tuned!

New from Lowering The Tone, Ettica's 'Night Shifter' EP get's a heavy-duty make over from Label Boss Meat Katie & Cologne based Switchbox. First up is Meat Katie who brings out a more tribal element to Night Shifter and twists the original riff up, turning it into a throbbing late night groove, that will keep the dirty stop outs happy at 4am. Next up is Switchbox bringing his trademarked tough but melodic Techno to 'Hypnottica', pinned by a solid bass-line the escalating hook from the original that trips out bringing an almost psychedelic feel to this stunning rework. All in all, another underground gem from the Lowering The Tone mothership.

I´d like to share this live recording of my set at the cool beach club location Kafes in Istanbul. My set time changed in the last minute, so i had to do something spontaneous which fitted to that time. 

It was a blasting party with a very grateful and open minded crowd. I included a few classics which i always have with me but rarely can play.

My first Rainbow Serpent Experience was back in 2005. Now, 13 years later the amount of crazy Party Groovers tripled, but the Festival hasn´t lost it´s spirit.
It was again a fantastic experience with so much blasting and inspiring music, beautiful & sexy people, extrem delicious food, magical arts, funny moments & talks, hot hot hot sun, refreshing rain & wind.
My body is exhausted but my mind and soul is filled up with  🌈 ´s

Switchbox @ Rainbow Serpent Festival - 2018 - Market Stage Sun 2-4pm

After a magical Friday night which was full of dancing, Götz stumbled past the Turmbühne back stage to get his bike and to say goodnight to his mate Mazen, before he cycled direction bed.

Mazen is one of the sound engineer at Turmbühne, and there was some action going on because Marc Romboy hadn´t shown up yet and was due to play the next set. As if in a puff of magic smoke, Bratenscheider and Switchbox fusioned a spontanious back to back set for the next 2 and a half hours.

These two have known each other for quite a long time, and are both DJ´s and producers, but had never played together before. 

Any thoughts of sleep dissapeared as the first track played to the radiant dancefloor.
Their set was full of energy and yet groovy in the right place.

We later learnt that Marc had come down with a really bad flu and he had to leave the Fusion to take care of himself. He has now announced via an Instagram message, that his Fusion set is now scheduled  for 2019.

Als Götz am Samstag Morgen nach einer magischen und tanzreichen Nacht in sein Bettchen wollte, stolpert er noch kurz in den Turmbühnen Backstage um sein Bike abzuholen und seinem Buddy Mazen gute Nacht zu sagen.

Mazen bestritt gerade seine Schicht und es herrschte ein wenig Aufregung, da Marc Romboy als nächster Act auftreten sollte, er aber noch nicht anwesend war.
Von da an ging alles sehr schnell. Wie in einem Rausch fusionieren Bratenschneider & Switchbox hinter den Decks und schüttelten ein 2,5 stündiges Set aus den Ärmeln.

Die 2 kennen sich schon ewig, sind beide Produzenten und DJ´s, haben noch nie zusammen gespielt, also ab dafür. ☺

Die Müdigkeit war nach dem ersten Track vergessen, die Sonne und die Crowd glühten.
Das Set ist „energetisch vorwärts“ und „groovig im Hier und Jetzt“ zugleich.

Wie später bekannt wurde,  ist Marc von einer Virus–Grippe heimgesucht worden. Er war sogar schon Vorort, aber konnte leider nicht spielen. Dafür wird er aber 2019 sein Fusion-Set nachholen, wie er in seinem Instagram Statement bekannt gibt.
