Thank you for another great piece.  The on thing I would mention is as much as I respect John Mearsheimer, the best idea for Ukraine weirdly came from ex-Reagan economist David Stockman ( I've lost the link now ) who pulled up some maps showing the split between Ukrainians right down the middle of the country. Paritioning he said was the answer - East Ukraine and West Ukraine. He made a lot of sense - but of course now is too late.

The problem is, I think, that the way out of our problems is step by step, fixing one problem at a time, and talking about it nationally open and honestly. Our system is set up to prevent that. It tells us what to think and what we better do - or else. Also, it is very difficult to get actual data. Data is at the heart of any real improvement effort. List the "defects" and then brainsstorm on how to fix them. Always slamming capitalism when few can even define it, and others are brainwashed to never question it doesn't get anywhere.  We have got to have an alternative. That is what was good about Andrew Yang's candidacy - at last he got people thinking. Same with Bernie focusing on one major problem and how to fix it.

Something in us intuits that there must be something more to this thing than we're seeing.
