The radio is broken but that's ok because someone stayed up late to record Black Celebration and King Sunny Ade on a dual cassette deck and you have the mix tape. Eine kleine nachtmusik never made your heart beat so hard, you Nightriders of the Purple Sage! This is the sound the West makes after forty days and nights. The hippies have abandoned their new polygamy where sand meets asphalt. Is the frontier only suburbia after all? Beyond Wilderness, between the suburbs and the sea, something stirs inside the shiny skin of the new metropole. Waves break on concrete, the road ends but the music makes you want to drive forever.
