This an exclusive edit Goldcap & I made the week before Burning Man. We wanted to have at least one new exclusive tune to play on the Playa for our b2b sets. We debuted this tune on Wednesday morning for our sunrise set at Kazbah, which was probably my favorite gig all week. All DJ sets out there are amazing, but this one was special simply because we started with a dance floor of 15 people at 6am, and ended with about 500 friends 4 hours later. The weather was perfect and from the pic you can see the vibes and smiles were flowing. Feel free to share and play this track in your sets, as one last Playa gift from Goldcap and I to you!! <3

The track list is a journey itself, going from South American mid tempo, to Shamanic downtempo, to Middle Eastern deep house, to Latin tribal house, to Playa tech, to Ambient cumbia dub. 

Each song represents the multicultural influences of the artists, and shows the diversity of the Sol Selectas sound.  

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the themes of summer and sunshine together perfectly.  This compilation will be released on the 1st day of the Summer Solstice - June 21st. 2016. "

'AEONIX is the brain-child of Jonnie King and Johnny Reyes. Their sound is comprised of deep, melodic textures accompanied by lush pads and driving progressions. AEONIX is not defined by any one genre; rather they enjoy experimenting through whatever soundscapes inspire them at any given moment.

The Medicine Songs EP is something AEONIX holds very dearly to their hearts. It has been a long time in the making, and finally ready for release. At the end of 2014, Jonnie King sat with Brother Edwin in a spiritual gathering and a vision came to him to share Edwin's icaros in the next AEONIX composition. After Edwin sent him some recordings, King brought them to his partner Johnny Reyes, which instantly sparked new creativity in their sound. The two saw this as a great opportunity to embark upon a slightly different direction with their music, and that next year AEONIX went on to open their set on the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man with the record, Pachamama Qhalichay, meaning “Earth Mother Healing.”

Later on in 2015, King met Chonon Quena in another spiritual gathering, and a similar vision came to him as with Edwin. He invited Chonon to the studio to meet Reyes, and it was clear that something beautiful was about to emerge from this union. They recorded Joe Divina (“Divine Light”) together which was the perfect companion to Pachamama Qhalichay. The boys then reached out to friends Goldcap, Simon Doty & Zein, and Sergio Santos to add their magical reinterpretations of the tracks to the Medicine Songs EP.'

Up next on the Pinkturban record label is sitar player and techno artist Evan Hatfield's magical debut EP, 'Raga Mala.'

"Raga Mala" (meaning a mixture of Indian ragas) features the Indian string instruments, Esraj and Sitar, combined with deep drums and bass in a 111 bpm medley that might make you feel like reality is melting around you. Following it up is "Magic Flute," which offers the soothing sounds of Native American flute by Kat Special.

The legendary Goldcap, known for his journey-making sets from Burning Man to the Sahara, delivers a spectacular remix of "Raga Mala" destined for the dancefloors.

Egyptian calligraphy artist Mahmoud Gafar provides Arabic Square Kufic artwork that reads "A Long Lover's Night," an excerpt from the Sufi poet Rumi.

The story of @itai_isenberg's “Falafel” goes through many countries, continents and families. It actually starts in Israel, where he used to play a Jazz gig for almost 4 years. One day his good friend (and amazing musician) Ori Dekel came up with a Middle Eastern Jazz tune and called it "Falafel". He immediately fell in love with this tune and used to play it acoustically in Jazz gigs all over the country and the world. 

He played "Falafel" for over 3 years, on almost any possible dance floor (even weddings & Bat Mitzvahs) and it never failed! However as his sound evolved, he felt the track needed some touch, and a proper release with the right label.
 
During that time, he bumped into a new friend, Berge Sahakian aka Goldcap. Berge fell in love with "Falafel" on the spot, and was the first to start playing it at his gigs around the globe. So, when @thesoulbrothers-talavera approached me to sign this track on Talavera Records, it was only natural for it to come out as a 3 track EP from all the above.
