I Like Cats

This is a recording I found in my archives of one night on the road with the Allman Brothers Band. Dickey Betts met my friend Bill Bartlett (Green Tambourine, Black Betty Ram Jam creator) in a motel room somewhere on the road. This is their Jam. At the end you can hear Dickey speak. Also David "Frankie" Toler, ABB drummer says "Crazy man".

I loved the guitar type sounds from NI Kore Player and FX. Push is such a great instrument to play... very responsive and intuitive. And I had been waiting to sample my wind chimes. And the physical space is a sonically beautiful church in Germany. Very peaceful yet complex at times. Enjoy! DG

Taking a Chance

This piece began its life as a composition to demonstrate a partner instrument collection offered by Soniculture. It is based on a simple 16 bar phrase. Development was achieved by orchestration techniques.

This song started as a gesture to help a friend deal with a long day and lots of stress.  It  asks that you to look inside yourself and find a quiet place and to let the sound enter and take over your consciousness.

Jinks Jam: Morning Fusion Fix

Mountain Stream was inspired by the mountains of Northern Georgia (USA). One afternoon I took a hike and made many on site recordings of streams of crystal clear water come down the mountain side. The majestic views and pristine environment moved me to create this piece to honor the natural beauty I found on that walk in the mountains. 

Some of the sounds were fascinating to develop. The introduction sound, a sort of drone was developed with an interesting software program called Iris that allows one to select bits of frequencies from within a whole sound. I also had been experimenting with Glissando Bass Harmonics and found they added another dimension to the overall sound.

Just In Time For Christmas

I did a session in my living room (it was my main recording studio when I first moved to Panama City Beach, fl.) with Buddy DeFranco, the world great Jazz Clarinetist. It was for BAMO (Bay Area Musician Association). After the playing was done I did a brief interview with Buddy just to get some of his thoughts on tape. Here they are.

This was recorded in 2/12/95 at the Presbyterian Church on Panama City Beach at their annual music series concerts hosted by Dr. Larry Tyson. This selection was sung at a show entitled "The Tenors and a Baritone". The performer is my friend Bob Cop, an entertainer turned Chiropractor. I ran into Bob the other day at Leitz Music and I was reminded how much I enjoyed sharing information about how to make better recordings and music with him. We took my DAT deck to the church and recorded the show. He is such a ham on stage and he brought the house down. I will always appreciate the time we spent together confirming and exploring out suspicions about music, recording, life and everything else. I think you will enjoy this track. 

Bob Copp - If I were a rich man

Just a short track that makes use of some interesting guitar sounds, a simple theme stated by the horns and some beautiful (to me) found sounds in Ableton Live 9.1.
