Mexican label Infinite Machine presents 'Crash Era', a standout from 2rana 3crana’s forthcoming EP titled 'The Mountain Holds A Dagger'. The project of Gum Takes Tooth’s Jussi Brightmore, it fuses industrial grit with the energy of Afro-Portuguese rhythms, grime and UK garage. Conceived after Brightmore’s move from London to the outskirts of Lisbon, the track reflects their immersion in Portugal’s underground scene after which batida’s raw experimentation left a lasting mark resulting in 'Crash Era' - a track pulsing with viscous basslines, metallic textures and digital howls, embodying both turbulence and release. It’s a celebration of movement and resilience, translating personal upheaval into a strange, ecstatic language of rhythm and renewal.

Para quienes crecimos en los noventa en México, antes de los algoritmos, antes de los playlists personalizados y mucho antes de que existiera internet accesible, una de las ventanas más amplias al mundo musical fueron las compilaciones NOW! That’s What I Call Music, especialmente sus ediciones mexicanas. En una época donde el sonido no circulaba a la velocidad de hoy, estos discos eran un mapa impredecible y formativo: un espacio donde convivían el rock alternativo con el eurodance, el britpop con R&B, el industrial con el pop latino, todo en un mismo objeto.

Para mí —LAO— esas compilaciones fueron más que una selección de éxitos: fueron una especie de educación estética involuntaria, un archivo híbrido que sembró las bases de mi curiosidad por mezclar mundos y romper géneros. Mucho antes de NAAFI, antes de mis EPs, antes de Chapultepec, ya estaba ahí la semilla: la idea de que no hay fronteras claras en la música, que todo puede estar junto, si la energía lo permite.

Este mix nace desde esa memoria.

∎ With Mythoplaxy, MIRA新伝統 presents a departure from both the tropes of dystopian club acceleration and the conventions of gallery-coded performance. Across stage and studio, the duo have cultivated a performative language that fuses Shinto-derived ritual with the communal, itinerant traditions of popular theatre and mythic storytelling - echoing forms from ancient satyr plays to medieval cycles - set against the spectral terrains of post-techno-capital collapse.

∎ The album by MIRA comprises 11 sonic tales - ranging from electronic ballads to mythogenic fragments - conceived as the rudiments of a symbolic architecture. Each piece invites listeners to imagine the myths and ruins we might forge and choose to carry from this world into the next, echoing the propositions of Italian philosopher Federico Campagna.
