HOTLANE are Berlin based duo. Agnes Lindström and Jack Tennis. Jack is a well know name in the Berlin underground party scene. Resident DJ at famous Kingsize Bar. Agnes came from Sweden. Modelling, working for small Berlin fashion brands, playing good records at happenings. They did 4 tracks. And here is the first one: remixes by Italian house shooting star RICARDO BAEZ (Toy Tonics) and French slow disco maestro DJ STEEF.

Hotlane - On My Own (Radio Mix)

Now on Gomma: The solo project of Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem. After years as vocalist and keyboarder in James Murphy's superband finally Nancy comes up with an own project: 4 cover versions of big songs from the 70ies. Produced by some big names of today's electronic scene: Audiojack, Etienne de Crecy, Bonar Bradberry, Drop Out Orchestra and The Revenge.

The first single is a rework of Dennis Parker's Like An Eagle. Audiojack transformed the Disco classic into a melancholic, space techno odyssey. The remix by Toy Tonics acts Black Loops is also a bomb!

Nancy Whang & Audiojack - Like An Eagle (Extended Version)

New York's Nancy Whang was part of LCD Soundsystem. Did vocals on big tunes of Soulwax, The Juan MacLean and Classixx and now finally comes with a own project. Four cover versions of great tunes from the 70ies and 80ies. 
The first one - Dennis Parker's Like an Eagle - produced by Audiojack came out in March and caused quite a stir on dance floors. This new single "Working The Midnight Shift" (originally by Donna Summer) - is a next step in this experiment of translating the classic 80ies boogie vibe into something fresh. Somehow futuristic. Bonar Bradberry (of PBR Streetgang) did the production on this one. A jumping late 90ies Electrobeat "Detroit style" builds the fundament for Nancy's sweet and lighty voice. There is a dramatic edge in this tune. The synths come smooth. In a wild contrast to the rolling bassline. The version is quite different to the original version made by Moroder and Summer - back in the old disco days in Munich. The extended version of the song is quite a trip.

"Chanson 3000" is finally released! All songs feature the new Munk voices:
23 years old american upcoming talent LIZZIE PAIGE and London born MONA LAZETTE - who has been working with artist like Catz 'N Dogz and Kele Okereke (Bloc Party) before. The music was all written by Mathias Modica and has been recorded over the last two years in Berlin. There has been little additional help by Ray Mang and Mark Ralph (Daniel Avery, Franz Ferdinand producer) on a few songs.

Music press and blogs are writing euphoric reviews. 
"Brilliant", "A work of absolute beauty" ,"Weird, but beautful electronic pop" are just a few description from the UK press. 

"Deceiver" is the new single. A mellow mid-tempo song - based on a strange, but driving, bass-heavy electronic beat, nasty synthlines and the absolute stunning voice of Lizzie Paige - the young American singer that performs all songs on the new Munk album along with London born vocalist Mona Lazette. 

The new single comes along with a great video by Milan based directors PROJ3CTSTUDIO. And remixes by PURPLE DISCO MACHINE (Exploited), new German producer genius LCAW and a country house version by Mr Munk himself.

Junior & Baumon's "Don't Listen Much" is the lead track of Gomma's upcoming compilation POP FUTURO. And yes: The songs sounds like a great pop song could sound in a few years from now. It was described by a journalist as a symbiosis of french melancholy, American wildness and a German electronic edge. In fact the trio consists of American singer/ songwriter Ian Fisher, French-German musician Fabian Kalker and Swiss producer Simon Baumann.

The story of the song sounds like the way a magic pop dream should evolve: Ian and Fabian met in Berlin  and have been already writing songs together. But the magic moment happened when they met Simon. Simon, whose electronic tracks under the name of Mercury and Sirens of Lesbos have been released on big labels such as Defected, Gomma and Exploited was touched by their songs, but he thought that he could add something to them that would make them even more outstanding. More unique. He reworked Don't Listen Much -  and what came out is kind of magic.

Ian's wonderful voice (that reminds a bit the coy charm of Harry Nilsson and the reptilian smirk of a Mark Bolan) combined with Fabian's skills as avant pop songwriter and Simon's brilliant way of retouching it with his electronic instruments created something that touches people deeply. In fact in the first place the guys had done an extended version of this song. They wanted to see people's reactions and had put it out on Soundcloud. For fun. With no promotional effort.  But people fell in love with it and picked it up. And...it became a hit. Almost 500.000 plays on several Soundcloud and Youtube channels for the older original, very different version of it. So the guys felt confirmed in their music vision and made a new, short, much different version of Don't listen much and offered it to Gomma. And so here it is. The new short version - and the older long club variations. Feel the magic!

Junior & Baumon - Don't Listen Much (Extended Version)

Pop Futuro is a compilation featuring new songs & remixes made exclusively for Gomma by DANIEL AVERY, MOULLINEX, METRONOMY, JUNIOR & BAUMON, WHOMADEWHO, HOT CHIP, MERCURY, BOX CODAX (The solo project of Nick McCarthy of FRANZ FERDINAND). The compilation shows new ways of electronic pop music. But not in a retro 90ies aesthetic, but with a heavy futuristic edge. 

Pop Futuro shows weird, strange, unheard music. Not the type of Deep House music that has  become mainstream in 2014 - instead Gomma wants to show new aspects in electronic music with vocals. This makes sense as Gomma always has been searching for new artists who are different. Musicians that combine electronic music with song writing skills and organic elements and an arty approach.  

POP FUTURO is full of music by people who have been connected to Gomma since years. DANIEL AVERY who has released his first works on Gomma before he was signed to Erol Alkan's Phantasy label. WHOMADEWHO - who did two albums on Gomma before they were discovered by Kompakt. Newcomers JUNIOR & BAUMON. MERCURY who started on Gomma and now are famous for their Sirens of Lesbos project on Exploited records. And Italian band ESPERANZA - who did their debut album on Gomma in 2012 and now have been signed by LIFE & DEATH records (where they will release under their new name Dead Heat).

The POP FUTURO compilation comes out along with a GOMMA MAGAZINE. 40 pages designed by Gomma friends like BORSCHE & KARTSOLIS, PAM, FENGEL and others.

Munk - Kitchen Call (Daniel Avery Remix)

Berlin based duo Hotlane's crystal clear, slow-melancholic electronic indie-pophouse has many fans. After the two singles they released over the last two years on Gomma they now come with a full EP and this new wonderful single: 'My Favourite Habit' - A slow, sweet ballad. Written in the greyness of Berlin winters - the town where the Swedish actress and singer and German DJ/ producer live, work and founded Hotlane. Both are part of the vibrant alternative party and fashion scene of Berlin. Agnes Lindström works as a model, actress, singer and DJ and Jack Tennis is one of the main DJs at Berlin underground happenings, art events and off spaces like Kingsize or the new Konzulat club. The new single comes with remixes by three of - as we think - the most interesting producers of the moment: Berlin House genius Nils Penner delivers an almost folky, very soulful, version. Pablo Nouvelle, who currently gets a lot of buzz on the internet transformed the original into a space-electro trip and Pixelated's remix is a straight forward house interpretation that might find a lot of fans.

DIMITRI FROM PARIS and DJ ROCCA are back! 

French house music legend Dimitri From Paris teamed up with DJ Rocca for their first Erodiscotique EP, which became a favorite of DJ's from Soul Clap to Danny Krivit, The Magician and Horse Meat Disco. Now this is the second EP, due for release 18th November 2011 on Gomma. 

Basically they do early 90ies hip house and electroboogie. Including a cover of The Pet Shop Boys "Domino Dancing" (feat. Tim Benton) and the dancefloor burner Ero Disco Theme. Hits.

Dimitri from Paris = The first DJ house music DJ in France. A godfather of the "french touch" and a cult figure with dance music connoisseurs. One of his compilations charted in Mixmag's top 100 of best compilations ever. He remixed Björk, the Cardigans, New Order, Quincy Jones! DJ Rocca is an Italian superproducer with releases on Classic, Rekids and International Feel (who also releases as Ajello and Crimea X and plays the flute on this release)

Another EP with essential originator Neo Disco tunes!
LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Munk, Peter Herbert and a balearic jam by two obscure German Disco lovers called: The GB’s.
It’s 2017 and suddently Disco vibes are everywhere again: From festivals like Dekmantel to the funky DJ style of opinion-leading DJ’s like Black Madonna or Mall Grab. From the never ending DJ Harvey hype to the massively increased disco edits vinyl market. Former techno DJ’s like Pachanga Boys, Dixon or DJ Koze suddenly release discoish mixtapes or funky remixes. If you went to a club in Berlin this summer the chance was big that instead of dancing to melancholic Deep House  you were stepping your feets to Disco Edits. The Disco vibe seems to take over House and Techno. 
And as Munk and the German Gomma label were among the first ones to release new styles of electronic disco a few years ago - it makes sense to  release some  essential stuff that started the wave.

LCD Soundsystem’s female voice Nancy Whang did a big disco tribute EP on Gomma 2013. New versions of classic tracks from the Casablanca records catalogue.( The classic disco label from the 1970ies). One of the 5 new interpretations was a french version of Steve Miller’s Like an eagle. This one is mad.

Belgique Disco innovators THE GLIMMERS remixed by Pete Herbert & Tristan de Cunha. A salsa piano disco house tune that will work heavy on baleric dance floors as well as on the harder clubs - when the nasty moment come in.

That Disco remix that was German Disco innovator Munk’s second big mover (after his collabo with James Murphy). 
The bassline! The piano solo! That voice!


The GB’s_ Lucky in Vichy. A 10 minutes balearic disco extravaganza. Smooth like a cocktail on an Ibiza beach. This one has never really been picked up in a bigger way, but probably that was good. No hype around that beautiful track. 
Isn't it amazing how fresh these tracks sound in 2017?

Munk - Down In L.A. (Shazam Remix)

The new Gomma 12" comes from two friends from Milano Italy. Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti are The Barking Dogs since 2006: two djs with different musical backgrounds and solid experiences. They run famous record shop in Milan “Serendeepity" and are known as party animals: their dj-sets spread the same energy and passion that they put in their musical research. Under their shop in the center of Milan they have a huge collection of vintage sinths and drum machines. They love this raw, dirty sound of the late 80ies. Big city grooves. 

They had a few releases: in 2008 “Re-incantation”, a Balearic trip quickly sold-out in Europe, “The guitar man” “Hi-nrg” on Mad On The Moon.Their  Rush hour single “Hit the ground/Fare una donna/Alibi” was quoted by 2ManyDjs, Horse Meat Disco, Trevor Jackson and many others. A nice Barking Dogs track was also part of last years “Italo Now Compilation” on Gomma Records.
