I like this sounds, like a soundtrack to a sci fi

I am really a fan of static textures, and I like your timbral palette, interesting, light, trippy

Fragile was one of those piece’s which was rattling around in my brain for a long time before I had a chance to put it together. 

It was when I saw the devastating destruction of the Australian bushfires of 2020 that spurred me to compose this piece after feeling so much loss and sadness for the destruction that the fires caused, but also frustration and anger that we find ourselves in these situations and continue to ignore our impact on the planet 

The piece itself is simple - the same chord progression for all three movements. I wanted to highlight the fragility of our planet with this simple chord progression… starting with the heavily effected, dark and brooding first movement, moving to the quiet and reflective second movement, and finally the energetic and hopeful third movement. 

I like to think that although we have (and a lot of us still are) living through one of the most challenging times of our lives, that there is hope for us that we can come together and save our fragile planet

Gonçalo BC, born 1991 in Lisbon, Portugal, holds an academic background in the arts and audiovisual studies. 

He pursued Audiovisual Studies at Val do Rio in Oeiras, Portugal, followed by a complete Fine Arts course in Moving Image from Ar.Co in Lisbon. 

Additionally, he completed a BA in Music Production from BIMM Bristol/London. 

When working in sound production he specialises in composing ambient and experimental sounscapes, as well as soundtracks, and other genres.

Presently, Gonçalo BC works in the art and film industries as a sound director, sound designer, sound recordist, and composer, whilst dedicating a significant portion of his time on contemporary art, primarily painting, moving image, sound art and music - often using a different alias.
