This month's guest for the first half of the show is @MITAYO from snowy Sapporo, the city dubbed by many as the music capital of Japan. Orbiting around legendary club Precious Hall - famous for its no-frills lineups year-round and world-class sound system - and underground music temple Provo, MITAYO has carved himself a place as an exceptional selector (even by local standards). His contribution to the series is as unique and eclectic as can be. It will remind those who know of MITAYO's own place Spice no Ana, a cosy restaurant with an excellent DJ setup, nested in the middle of the city. This is where he hosts "Datsuryoku Ongakukai", a party that can only be described as a listening session/house party with food, desserts, booze and a generous dose of Japanese New Year's vibes: quiet yet festive, still and joyful at the same time.

彼のミックスは、唯一無二で幅広いものです。MITAYOの自身の店、Spice no Anaを知る人々には懐かしく感じられるでしょう。それは街の中心にある、素晴らしいDJ設備を備えた居心地の良いレストランです。ここで彼は「脱力音楽会」を主催しています。この会は、リスニングセッションとハウスパーティーが一体となった場で、食事やデザート、お酒とともに、日本の大晦日の雰囲気が惜しみなく味わえます。静かでありながらお祭り気分、落ち着きと喜びが同時に感じられるのです。

10代でDerrick Carterの洗礼を受けDJ活動を開始し、青山MANIAC LOVEやYELLOWといった都内の伝説的なクラブを中心にDJを行う。シカゴ・ハウスをキーワードにテクノやディスコのレコードもピックアップし、ファンキーなグルーヴを作り上げるスタイルは東京のハウス・シーンはもちろん、Derrick CarterやMark Farina，Luke Solomonといった、海外アーティストからの信頼も厚い。
2014年には渋谷MODULEで10年にも渡る「R20」のレギュラーを終了し、代官山AIR、渋谷CONTACTに渡って開催中のROUNDHOUSEのレジデントを務め、現在は渋谷OATHのレギュラーを担当し、現在進行形のシカゴハウスシーンの活性化に励む。

This episode's guest for the first half is Chiba-based DJ KURI for a mystical trip between ambient soundscapes, avant-garde electronics and spiritual jazz. A respected figure in the Japanese underground music scene, KURI is known for his marathon vinyl-only sets. His eclectic, mesmerizing selections range from experimental and meditative sounds to deeply organic, soulful grooves, down to the darkest edges of deep techno.
