Have you ever experienced a feeling as if time slows down during the cold winter days? When each moment seems drawn out and the bitter chill in the air slows your movements and routine. This feeling is captured in this musical mixtape, with stretched out downtempo tracks that give you an icy chill. However, the longer you listen and embrace the cold, the deeper its warmth will affect you. It builds gradually, like your courage would on a cold winter day, encouraging you to go outside once the sun and its icy reflection hit you. Finally, as the mix comes to an end and the sun sets, stars still twinkle with distant magic, always promising the return of light tomorrow.

The love for music that Sander Emil possesses manifests itself in many different areas. For years, he has been pushing soulful sounds by organizing Blauwdruk and helping to set up the local radio station, which has grown into the force that is Open Source Radio today. More recently, he has been co-producing electro & house and even a disco edit that have caught our attention lately. 

But most of all, his love for music shines through when he plays his finds for anyone who wants to dance. As a DJ, Sander passionately searches for unknown gems that move, captivate, and intrigue. With a keen ear for rhythm, deep, and euphoric tracks, Sander can take you on a real trip. And that's exactly what he did with this mix, except this time in an extremely slowed-down fashion.

For Viscera 097, we welcome a special mix from Mayurashka!

'Mayurashka is a DJ and electronic music producer based in Tokyo, Japan. She played at nightclubs and music festivals in Japan as DJ over the past decade. She also made some DJ mixes for international labels and radios such as Born Free, Animals Dancing, NTS Radio, Skylabradio, XLR8R etc. She has started producing electronic music since 2020.

In December 2021, she participated in the compilation cassette "Donne Che Corrono Coi Lupi" released by the Amsterdam label "osare editions" with two tracks. In March 2022, she released her first single "waterskipps EP" on the Japanese label "Lady Bug".

In April 2022, her work appeared in an omnibus album "ORDINARY DREAMS VOL.
2" released by an Australian label "planet trip". In August 2022 she participated in a compilation co-produced by Osàre! Editions and XLR8R. More releases are planned in the future.'

In the words of Mayurashka "This mix was a record-only mix that I recorded shortly before I entered the Corona disaster. I had planned to upload it somewhere, but the mood of Corona and my mood had put it in storage."

Fans of Helena Hauff's storming Cover Mix from earlier this year will be familiar with @lockedclub and @privatepersons. She certified Locked Club's 'Baikal Boogie', from 2017 debut EP 'Forever Punk' on Private Persons, as "BANGIN'" when selecting it among her tracklist of ferocious electro. 

The balaclava-donning Russian production duo and label are now linking forces again, with a five-track EP titled 'Svoboda' landing on November 9. The title translates as 'Freedom', and refers to the struggle clubland faces to exist in light of governmental attacks. They cite the raids and shutdowns of Outline Festival, Аrma17 and Rabitza in their home country, as well Kiev's Closer, London's fabric and Tbilisi's Bassiani from further afield, as influencing the rallying energy of this EP. 

This manifesto of fighting for freedom instils an intensity that surges through the record. The title-track is a blistering mesh of distorted textures, hard-hitting percussion and call-to-arms vocals from Vadim Seleznev, who demands we "value the moment of the rave" among his searing flow.
