In 2020, these songs left me grappling with uncertainty and dissatisfaction. Despite earnest attempts with my former band, they merely served as a mirror, reflecting my concealed and profound unhappiness with them. I quit and will never let anyone question my creative choices again. 

In a moment of clarity (or manic depression), I deleted everything and endeavored to move forward. However, as I embarked on the creation of the follow-up to my debut EP, 'Distress Signals,' a flicker of inspiration ignited.

One riff, haunting and familiar, emerged from the shadows of the past - "Europa." With trepidation and determination, I revisited these discarded melodies, determined to unearth their hidden potential. Through the process of re-recording and refining, I discovered a newfound sense of purpose and pride.

The result is "MOONS" - a testament to resilience, growth, and evolution. From the haunting melodies of "Tethys" to the triumphant crescendo of "Io," each song is a chapter in the narrative of rediscovery.

Collaborating with my daughter, Eleanor, the art and music video became a labor of love, a testament to the bonds of family and creativity.

For over two decades, Goodbye, Beautiful has been a sanctuary and a graveyard for creative musings. It serves as a moniker under which ideas are born, explored, and sometimes laid to rest. The heart of Goodbye, Beautiful lies in forging songs without predetermined destinations, often existing in a liminal space between conception and obscurity.

"Distress Signals," the inaugural track, exemplifies the possibilities that emerge in the absence of constraint—a sonic manifestation of untamed creativity.

Yet, Goodbye, Beautiful's scope extends beyond the confines of its creator's solitary vision. Within its expansive universe dwell two ambitious undertakings: "Years" for Eleanor and "RJA" for Rainey—projects spanning a staggering 18 years each. Through these endeavors, Goodbye, Beautiful immortalizes the passage of time, crafting a song and accompanying video for every year until Eleanor and Rainey reach adulthood.

As Marco Arroyo's alter ego, Goodbye, Beautiful stands as a testament to the transformative power of sound. It invites listeners to embark on a voyage of hope, solace, anxiety, and inspiration in a world that often echoes with silence.
