Boiled Wonderland Records invites Max Mason from BOIL01 to the decks with his brother Mark. Both based in the UK now bring a solid selection of Max's own music, and new edits from around the globe. The first hour of the show is with show host Vell, bringing new tracks  of his and the labels and a whole host of new breaks and edits.

Uk-based Kostas G has been a pivotal contributor to the breaks and beats scene for several years. He has featured releases on labels such as Ostrich Recordings, Tonedropout, Childhood Intelligence, Thrust Recordings, and recently on the renowned 88 - breaks imprint.

The Kostas G sound is a modern interpretation of the breaks sound whilst mixing and merging many influences, atmospheric or straight-in-your-face grooves and beats. Many will be familiar with his collaborations with Lee Coombs, and he's here with a new two-track EP.

[ PREMIERE ] Mosaik Kollektif & Narrow - Sittin in Love

The Sagan Club collective began its journey about nine years ago, the result of the union of three DJs who came from other collectives and came together to party in Madrid, focusing on Deep-House, Cosmic and Disco, and thus be able to bring some of their favorite DJs of these genres. Their first sessions were at the Siroco Club and they had exceptional guests such as Andy Hart, Craig Bradley, Medlar, Pletnev or Ishmael, among others. With the passage of time two of the members stopped participating and, soon after, Oncina from the Cenital label began to collaborate actively and they started to move to other venues in the capital (Costello, Republik and El Sótano), counting again with some national and international guests such as Kornel Kóvacs, Luis Costa, Daar, Delone, Alvaro Cabana, Jackwasfaster or Promising/Youngster. In December, the collective will be nine years old and for this occasion its members have decided to gather the tracks of some of their guests, with the plan to release four eps of four tracks every three months, in which they will review the history of the collective through the DJs who have participated in their parties over the years.

 

This first release brings together the talents of three of the guest DJs: Delone, Jackwasfaster and LagreSca, plus Hyman Bass, one of the resident DJs and one of the founders of the collective. The duo LagreSca, formed by writer and DJ Luis Costa and producer Fernando Lagreca, is in charge of opening the EP with a brutal "Mostro", a blast of forceful and dark Techno, whose tension rises throughout the track and traps you in its loop; perfectly designed to burst any dance floor. The producer Jackwasfaster - a regular DJ at Sagan Club parties - delivers us a wonderful "Ora Et Labora", a time bomb destined to take any dancefloor by storm thanks to a perfect mix of Italo, House and Dark Disco, with a hooking melody and a mythical vocal sample. Delone, the boss of the Riverette label, is another usual suspect of the Sagan parties, having played and collaborated as co-organizer in several dates; this track that he gives us shows all his quality, with that emotional IDM with a sound cared to the smallest detail, of precious atmospheres and hypnotic development, which serves to take a breath of air after those two tracks more pisteros. Our resident Hyman Bass is in charge of closing the EP with a House cut with the sights set on the UK, built around a powerful bass that is wrapped by arrangements that bring it closer to Hip-House, and with fantastic vocals of the singer Chulo Soundsystem, a regular of his parties that elevates the cut to another level.

After a long summer break, Deep Explorer is back to the game with the "Space Space EP" by .MAHAL. For this project we call 'the joint venture', we are teaming up alongside our brothers and sisters from Inner Shift Music. This collaboration starts with the first 12" which will land on Deep Explorer and ends with the second 12" on Inner Shift Music. .Mahal. is a Japanese producer and dj that grew up surrounded by the healthy mixture of hiphop, house, jazz, rock and other eclectic sounds. Much of this music was played by his favourite radio show on NHK-FM, when he was a teenager. He began playing music at age 18, as guitar player in a noise band. Not long after, he started buying more music and became a dj, which quickly led to producing his own beats. His first official release was with Rough House Rosie. The "Space Space Ep part 01" contains 2 original tracks that dive into deep house and acid techno beats. It includes remixes by the mysterious Man-drake, taking one of the originals into the downtempo zone. Following that is the Brad P remix, which gives an alternate deep and atmospheric sound to the original, and Rai Scott closing the EP with an ambient reshape of an inedit track by .Mahal.

We’ve been cooking up something fresh at Bakery Dubs, the new sub-label of Neighbour Recordings. Mixing things up, doing just what we feel and that means anything from dub to drum and bass, hip-hop to ambient and anything in between. House and techno are never far away of course with Quantec and Birke TM behind this project too, but it’s not the raison d'être. Take our debut release. Birke TM steps forth with Trust The Process and Real Highs, a ten-inch hand-stamped vinyl EP, frenetic breakbeat homages to the original d&b scene yet owing as much to downtempo grooves, spiritual deep house and jazzy flavas.
