Cycles of Time

My oldest 2 sons being goobers on the mic (Adam - 6; Nathan - 5). Bad news: my Boss RC30 is garbage. Good news: I figured out where the squeaking is coming from...of COURSE it was the last pedal I tested ... an hour and a half!!

I wrote this song for my last grandparent and played it on her death bed. It was the only time we saw her show some kind of physical response to our presence while I was there. The vibrations were able to reach her where my voice and touch could not, and through it she felt all of my love and regrets for our relationship. RIP

Era's End

My wife and I did not want a fourth child, but we got one anyway. My immediate reaction was pure joy and excitement (matching hers), proving we were both wrong that three was enough. Then the miscarriage came, with tons of strange synchronizations and omens telling us it was meant to be this way. This song is dedicated to our daffodil, may we meet again in another time and place. I will finish this song and add lyrics and fix the sloppy transitions between parts. I just had to get this recorded and out there now. The main emotional theme is that of cosmic humor ... we are not in control of this thing, and the second you think you've got it figured out is the second you find yourself lost and confused. Wookiefoot tried to tell me and I should have listened: "whenever I think it's two there's always three".

I can't explain it, I didn't want it, but I accept it and we carry on without our Daffodil. I'm just grateful for the opportunity to be here and to try my best every day.

Daffodil

As mentioned on "Relocational Blues", I'm moving. This means leaving behind loved ones, friends, and lovers. This came out of me when saying goodbye to a woman who means quite a lot to me. This is also the test-run for my new Lo-Fi Junky pedal by ZVex. I really like this pedal. Can't wait to make some ambient music with it.
