Dreams Dreams; Sweet Snow (Demo Size)

Have you guys played Granblue Fantasy? If not, it's okay -- but if you played the recent event, you'll know who I had in mind while making this.

Anyway, I wanted to have a bit of fun with sound design and singing, so I sang this beloved, very pretty song from Adventure Time and added a little garden magic. Imagine a big open chamber with white pillars surrounded by green, birds, and chimes... that's close to what I was seeing. It's very likely I made some novice mistakes, but that's okay; it's the only way to get better!

I recorded myself on my phone at like 1:00am because I was too tired to grab my mic... maybe I'll expand it into a real polished cover one day (and sing at a normal human being hour so I don't sound like I'm trying not to wake up my housemates).

All the sounds I used were licensed as CC0 Public Domain, but I feel I should credit the lovely creators anyway. Check out their work on freesound.org...

Everything Stays: Garden Version

This is a really informal thing I recorded on my phone with my lil tambourine. What I'd like to do is expand it into a jazz/big band cover, but... that involves finding some cool composers and musicians who are interested. Maybe one day!

Sonic Adventure 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and helped me a lot growing up. :-) It would be really wonderful to sing something as tribute.

Escape From The City (Informal Vocal Demo)

A new song I've started writing in my spare time! The lyrics and melody came together over the course of a few weeks. I tend to just wait and let vague notes string themselves together like a big scarf before doing anything with them. 

It's definitely not done! More to do and think about. But I'm learning that I really gravitate towards this kind of late-night loungey sort of sound and easy listening... You, The Rain, And I is similar, I think.

Inspired (Draft)

Remember that snippet I posted months ago? It's a full song, now! Or at least the skeleton of one.

Unfortunately, since I am not a composer, I can't really give much beyond the melody and the rhythm... but I hope you can imagine it like I do!

Sorry for the low volume, Audacity was finicky about letting me amplify it... if I get the opportunity to sing it in a booth one day, that'd be fun. This is just to say "hey, I write songs, please listen!".

Just a song that fits neatly in my range that I enjoy... Sunrise is my favorite song of hers, so I really should get around to learning it.

Don't Know Why (Norah Jones)

Made for a personal project. Used the Voloco app's "Big Chorus" setting, then generated static and tone and distortion in Audacity. I'm no composer, but this was fun. :-)

The original song is a classic composed by Stephen Collins-Foster.

BEaUtiFuL DReAmER

Bentley Jones, why is this song so hard to sing for somebody with a higher register?! Augh!

I really love this song and I'd do a full cover in a heartbeat... were it more agreeable with my range. :-( We'll see!

Just a short adaptation of Caro's song from Granblue Fantasy... he was so cute, and so unfortunate. :-(

Together In Song

Based on "Regret" by Charlotte Bronte, this was something I made for a friend's character in a sci-fi fantasy story. 

Blizzard and wind sounds were CC0 from freesound.org! The rest is all me and Audacity. I really like the harmonies I wrote for this... maybe I'll try doing them more often. This would ALSO sound fantastic with some cold chimes, waltzy percussion, and violin... much to consider.

There are a bunch of places where I'm off-tempo and probably off-key, but I'm working with very limited resources and no sound design/mixing experience... thanks for listening anyway!
