When we thought of turning this space into an access point for our audience to become acquainted with the immense contingent of fresh names doing fantastic things at the moment, it stemmed from the feeling of deeply missing one of the most cherished elements of our physical events: the future-nurture rooms where the public could get to know them face to face and enjoy their creations. That environment was special to us because there we could provide the kind of care all talent needs in order to blossom, an opportunity to showcase the tomorrow of our scene. However, since our physical manifestations are impossible at the moment, we decided to bring this dear endeavour of ours into the online realm and make an open call for mixes. And of course we expected it to garner some attention, but the response surpassed our wildest expectations, giving us not only a rewarding idea of how much we are trusted, but especially a good glimpse of what a fantastic new generation of selectors is out there, ready to be discovered by the public. Kickstarting these special series, we are happy to present a wonderful selector whose musical offering took us on such an enthralling ride that we felt compelled to share so you can all enjoy it:  Apartamento 21 resident and Bongosynth affiliate Mary Roman.

Dj residente da Festa até as 4, movimento cultural e selo de festa atuante no Rio de Janeiro desde 2017, é também uma das criadoras da Vala, projeto que busca pluralidade estética, sonora e representativa no ambiente eletrônico. The immense musical fertility fostered by the African diaspora as one of the main factors that nurtured not only the appearance, but the growth and development of modern club music is something fairly known but often overlooked. What should be glaringly evident is usually downplayed as either an understatement that should not be overly celebrated or as a detail unworthy of being widely discussed. But against this obscurantist complacency there is always some conscious and passionate effort to unveil the wonders of our musical ancestry and share its colourful abundance, usually by some aficionado whose devotion and generosity makes all the difference to all of us. Such is the case of Kbulom's impressive personal endeavour, taking it as both an heuristic mission and artistic expression, since they are inextricably roots of identity and source of creativity. This is much of what is factored into the dauntless and boundless mixes consistently put together by this young selector hailing from Belo Horizonte and exactly what is offered here in this episode, much to our delight.
